I've hated the Rags since I was a Wings fan and Jean Ratelle was lighting them up.

Treat it like one game. Stay focused and possess the puck. Stay out of the box.

I like the urgency this game brings. It's been been fun watching this young team. Their better days are ahead of them after they get through this 7 games in 12 day monster and then get Jones back.

This will be a difficult game to win but I remain optimistic.

about last summer.
This is the kind of game makes coaches pull their hair out...

It could be anything to a very tight goalie battle to a high flying back-and-forth scoring bonanza. That's part of what will make this one interesting.

Didn't like the GAG line, huh?

I mean, your teams pretty much been lundquist dragging you guys to a second round loss, with few exceptions, so other than the big market effect, there's really no compelling reason to pay attention.

I only pay attention to the good teams, with the jackets being the only exception.

See, I think it speaks to how exciting your team is that i honestly couldn't remember any of those years but '14.

Looking at that list though, man, it's impressive the Rags managed to completely turn lundquist from someone who should be a sure fire hall of famed into The Lord With No Rings.

So you're saying Michael Grabner isn't a household name?

GDT has an interesting feel when it's 3/4 ranger fan.
God I hope we don't get slaughtered. Or worse, do the late third period collapse like usual against these guys.

Those names. Always hated. Always respected.

Thinking of those days. No helmets, not many slap shots and goalies very little equipped. Different game today for sure.

Same hatred :D ;)

CBJ!

I was a Rangers fan until 1967 when the Blues came into existence and I could listen to their games on 50,000 watt KMOX.

The team I hated in those days was the Bruins. They owned the Rangers back then, and it drove me crazy.

Before last year the Rangers have made the conference finals 3 out of 4 seasons and one season made the SCF. They won at one point more playoff games than any team not named Chicago or LA. They also won the Presidents' trophy two seasons ago, had the best record in the east in 11-12, and despite being a down year had over 100 points last season. That post reads like it's 2008 or something.

If it read like 2008, it'd read a lot more optimisticly than I currently think about your team; which from what I've gathered, is every bit as good as the Jackets at not winning the cup.

Exceptions!

When it's 3 of the last 5 years it's not exceptions. Since 11-12 the Kings missed the playoffs once and lost in the first round once. The Hawks did the same. Were their good years (cup + WCF) exceptions? These aren't 3 random seasons sprinkled around 10 years, it's 3 in 5 years. Lundqvist carrying the team to the 2nd round has happened once since 07-08. Literally, second round losses happened three times in his career (since 05-06) and two of them were in 06-07 and 07-08.

You'd be a lot more optimistic in 2008 than now? Why? That team was far worse than this one and didn't win the cup nor even come close. Since 08-09, 4 teams are not every bit as good as the Jackets at not winning the cup. The same could be said about the Oilers. So is any team not named the Pens, Kings, Hawks, and Bruins as bad as the Oilers or something? I don't know if you're trying to trash talk but it's not working. I feel like you posted something that was factually incorrect and instead of saying "I didn't realize that..." you just decided to double up on it. Anyway, I didn't come here to start and argument. I rarely post on other teams' boards and wouldn't have if I just didn't read something factually inaccurate. Good luck today, it should be a good game.

I just don't think highly of your team as it stands and in 2008, your team hadn't developed its allergy to 1st round picks that will catch up with it soon.

No need to respond, just don't see eye to eye.
