Is Randy butchering Liljegren’s name or have I been wrong this whole time? ( I missed his first game so I’m sure this has come up)

The more I watch this team the more I realize we have a really numerically weird roster.

3 guys in the 70s
a guy in the 60s
2 guys in the 50s

a forward wearing a mostly d-man number, 2
d-men wearing numbers usually for forwards in the 80s and 90s

neither goalie having 1 or a number in the low to mid 30s

And most of that is not the result of "rookies get weird numbers until they earn a 'real' one"
I feel like that's just kinda where the league is these days. Superstars wearing 97, 29, 87, 71, 34, 86, 43, 98, etc.

We recently learned that people have been mispronouncing it since he was drafted and this is how he wants it to be pronounced. Hard 'J'. It's probably still not 100% right on account of Randy not being Swedish, but I think it's as close to right as native English-speakers can get.

If you're talking about it being pronounced Lil-JEH-gren with a hard "j", this was brought up last game: he asked for that pronunciation to be used after he was traded to San Jose, so it's likely that the "Lil-YEH-gren" that was usually used when he was in Toronto was wrong.

It's kind of like the whole Michalek mess.

Wait, I'm confused: Did Tara Sloane stick around? I thought she said she was going back to Canada and would only contribute the occasional piece for the club.
She is still living in Toronto, but did say she would be doing some rink-side games.

Ahh. I didn't hear that she'd still do rink-side reporting at all. They made it sound like she might fly down for a weekend, film like 8 hours of content and then they' have interviews and behind-the-scenes stuff that could last them a month or two.

It's so nice when skill guys like Smith and Walman and Liljegren can actually hang onto the puck in the defensive zone and make a play instead of immediately launching the puck as far as they can like Ferraro or skating directly into traffic and losing the puck like Thrun.

Its annoying how we have no desire to possess the puck. Feels like we just dump and chase even with no pressure. Kunin does that a lot. Probably realizes if he has the puck on his stick, his limitations will be spotlighted and would rather show how hard he hustles by always chasing the puck.
