This trend has been going on for far too many years. It's almost funny... but it's not. This actually happens. They will get outplayed, they will steal a win, they will continue to learn nothing.
Those pairs won because of goaltending and NHL coaches would lick a rabid squirrel if it won a hockey game three years ago.Laviolette's unearned loyalty to Lindgren and Gallant's/Quinn's D pairings is fascinating. Lindgren hasn't been good since he's been here and neither have the D pairings. It's weird anti-ego thing where he's loyal to the other guys (Gallant/Quinn) for some odd reason.

But it was new. Anything new will be squashed at the first sign of trouble for the lineup with the track record, even if the track record is from 2022.But they were winning and playing better than at any time last year with the new pairs. The Rangers looked like a juggernaut to start the season. I'm not completely clueless, I doubt THAT play was sustainable and they played bad teams, but now they're getting destroyed by bad teams.
I don't think we ever looked like a Juggernaut. We were just scoring more. In the first 6 games of the season, the only win on the win mete to reflect a monster showing was the first game against the Penguins, where we got a bit lucky in the first period. We may have gotten 55% at times after but I think looking like juggarnauts is going a bit overboard. But they were winning and playing better than at any time last year with the new pairs. 55% in any analytic, with consistency, is a juggernaut.I don't think we ever looked like a Juggernaut. We were just scoring more. This has getting walloped but winning anyway written all over it.Im expecting them to get walloped tonight but that probably means they'll actually play well in a win for a change
