Msl is great at finding philosophical quotes but terrible at actually coaching

Low iq?
Positioning?
Size?
Skill?
Grit?

Something is wrong with the making of this team.
Look at the first goal.
Three guys back in good position but all three back in and give up the blue line FREE OF CHARGE.
Once the zone is given up one mistake leads to two and a tap in.
This team just isn't very good at all at taking the man and forcing them in a given direction.

While this is true, perhaps, it doesn’t explain the lack of determination to play with any intensity. Routinely giving up on plays, always outmanned coming back up ice. For Pete’s sake they cannot put two passes together as they struggle to make even one. I’m not on Marty’s back but I’m ready to hop up on there. It’s the coach who preps the players at game time. The late goal and overtime loss to Calgary was very revealing.

No argument there, they're not competing as they should.

I refuse to believe “the system” involves our wingers playing this passive when opportunities to close on pucks arise, but who knows

Goalie coach teaches techniques, positioning, provides advice. It's not the same as a team coach. He doesn't need to guide an entire team.
Just because he can make the saves by instinct doesn’t mean he can teach someone else how to do the same thing. Note that everyone that has a Masters or PhD doesn’t decide to teach for a living.

NJD started their rebuild in 2015

Oh no! *checks notes* Fitzgerald was hired in 2020, so they're only in their 4th year of rebuild! We're so close.
The rebuild is going along fine , we obviously wish for them to be good every year but its nice to see them bottom out and pick top 5 again , why some fans are so afraid of tank and want us in the mix with ghule as 1D and Suzuki as 1C blows my mind

Hughes will have no choice soon. The season is young enough to make a big coaching change.

He's great at being an absolute dickbag. Can't believe that quote about the fans. I throw up in my mouth every time I think about how much I liked him as a player.
What did he say?

Wasn't your original post "Marty might actually step down" this was what I was responding to....
For the running gag yes lol
But it's *exactly* like you said, he's too prideful for that

But as it's going... they will have no choice to fire him eventually sadly, unless we see some major returns until the end of the year
So they'll "announce" it as stepping down

I don’t think he’s too prideful for that. He’s all about introspection. At some point he’s going to admit to himself that he’s not the one to lead this team.
