Put Kopitar on RW, Martinez at C, Carter on D, whatever needs to happen to score.

You should be scoring 1 goal for every 10 or so shots you get. That's why the offense can be so frustrating. Yeah, every shot isn't going to be great, especially if you're the Kings and just throwing everything at the net all the time. But then that's why you also have to go to the net at the same time.

Just got thru reading the earlier posts in this thread. I see the geniuses that wanted Muzzin dumped for a bag of pucks a while back are now proclaiming Forbort a bust. In another year or so Forbort will be a fantastic shut down dman. The guy is calm with the puck and makes smart passes, loving his game. His reach is so long he doesn't need to ram people thru the boards, he will get more physical as he matures.

Yeah, McNabb hits and hits hard but he misses as much too.

I know many opposing fans that absolutely hate him. He's a homer as most color guys are but not even close to the worst of the worst. And does actually give credit where credit is due.

How many "homers" always take the side of the ref?

To be fair I think the Schultz comparison isn't far off so long as you're using the Ducks series version of schultz and acknowledging that Forbort's foot speed and decision making are tenfold better. The puck just moves forward well with him out there and 'simple' and 'boring' are effective. Glad he got his first point today. I'm not completely discounting what others have said though, it's fair to be skeptical, just unfair to trash him because his debut took a while and he doesn't look special.

We have 3 goals on 30 shots. Why are you frustrated?

Other than size, Forbort is nothing like Schultz.

Who wanted Muzzin dumped for nothing?

Forbort is not a bust, but I think it's fair to say he has not lived up to where he was picked. Again, not his fault, scouts overrate things that can't be taught such as size. I don't believe he projects as a "fantastic" shutdown defenseman. I think the Kings would be happy if he could be, as Brad Doty said, a better version of Jeff Schultz.

And just for reference, most of the people who were angry about the Forbort pick actually wanted Emerson Etem, not Tarasenko. Etem is no better than Forbort.

I disagree, but I'm also not saying it in a negative way. Big, limited contact, good positioning, uses stick effectively to break up plays, questionable acceleration. You'll notice I also pointed out he's much better WITH the puck though can make effective breakout passes especially, and he's definitely got a higher speed than Schultz (and I imagine he's gonna be working on his skating hard too).

He looks very efficient in a good game by the Kings, but the real test is what does he look like in a bad game. Ehrhoff looks fantastic in wins, but ungodly, ECHL level awful in losses.

man. they never call it when players pass/shoot each other their sticks. Kings have done that twice this season.
