Lucic has been terrible at clearing the zone this year. He's like Williams, if Williams was always bad at it.

That's a bad goal. Right handed guy, skating to the right, shooting to Quick's right side, and it goes in.

Hell the Kings passed on Zetterberg and Dats, Where is the anger there ?

I'm talking about the first round, not late discoveries.

Forbort can barely hang in the NHL. The last 2010 first round pick to appear in a game turned out to be him, and he also appears to be the most likely to bust. The Kings could use a solid dman like Gravel in the lineup, not another Jeff Schultz.

Seriously man, how many NHL minutes has he played?

Sorry but hitting the net is the only thing he's done well. He's been a mess in his own zone.

He has helped our pp a lot imo Yes in his own end he had issues but he has done some good things which king fans neglect to point out. It not a bad thing i guess but most king fans focus on the negative and forget positive things.

Why aren't you more angry with 2006 ? The Kings passed on Giroux

Pukestead had a King on him. Forcing him to shoot. It was a wrist shot....no power. Quick gets burned. Sorry man, in my opinion that is a weak goal to give up. CBJ goal was worse.
Answer me this, why do/did Enroth and Jones have so much success? My answer is that they don't give up weak goals on low shot totals.

You are going to just keep going aren't you.

That picked really got to you.

Out of all the bad drafting the Kings have done (and it's a lot over the years). This pick really just did it for you ?

Or 2003? Hell, we could have drafted a bunch of those guys instead of trading for them :sarcasm:

Everyone. Misses. On. Picks. Should just be happy Dl/Futa turn later picks into roster players.

Yup. It gets old reading some posters when they choose to cherry pick our bad picks. You should have been there in the 1970s, Ziggy. We got it right everytime but traded an entire hall-of-fame roster for a bunch of has-beens.

That's okay, living in the past is for fools. This team is mostly comprised of two-time Stanley Cup champions who are still a contender. Some of you just need to move on.

It's amazing really.

The Kings have had way, way more awful Drafting years than simply 2010. At least Forbort is on the roster, and still young.

It's from watching him skate and how slowly he turns and reacts. I see nothing in his game that stands out as an NHL player.

I'd be shocked if he flipped a switch and played with intensity suddenly. He's a gentle giant.

I just think it's a little early to be throwing dirt on his casket. It takes some a while to learn the NHL game and though I was with you on his footspeed in the preseason he looks like he's soaking things up. It's hard to damn him for being unable to crack one of the best defensive 6's in the league while he grew, and he's just now getting his chance.

I think you were trying to quote me not damacles :P

I'll re-watch it when I get a chance, but when a shooter gets a chance to move laterally across the slot and get a post-in snipe off, you can say the goalie should have had it, but I'm not going to pin that one on Quick when everyone on the ice did something stupid.

You're both right and both wrong.

At the time Forbort was seen as a good pick, a defenseman with his size who wasn't a pylon and was supposed to have an untapped offensive game.

Over five years later and it was obviously a bad pick, Forbort didn't develop a lick at North Dakota in his prime development years and looks like a Schultz or Ellerby.

The Kings gambled a bit and lost. I'd rather do that than draft guys with zero upside like Teubert or Steckel.

Forbort is not the problem with the Kings right now. What a weird thing to focus your wrath on.

He's not the problem, I just get annoyed watching him play knowing the talent that passed him by. He's probably the softest dman on the roster despite being the biggest dman as well. Martinez plays with more intensity and physicality.

If we are going to be the cherry pick draft kind, people should be angry with Trever Lewis pick over Claude Giroux. Forbort is a nothing pick compared to that Miss.

You should be pitchfork and all.

Sometimes draft picks don't work out, it happens. But Futa/Lombardi are way better than prior GM's in this regard.

It's a little early into Forbort's NHL career to assume that.

people are a little quick to judge sometimes. judge the ones who've had a whack of ice time, shifts and still are invisible, screwing up, having no impact etc. they're probably getting paid more too.

Yeah, I was. Ha! My bad....at the gym and reading/posting don't mix.

When you can't score, and your number one Center is MIA, you are going to lose a lot of games like this.

I can swallow that pick a bit better seeing that Lewis is a useful NHL player. Plus it was still an Al Murray draft and I don't even remember when if ever the Kings have taken a forward from the Q in the 1st round.

With Forbort, I just see nothing about his game that I see leading to a successful NHL defenseman. He doesn't have to be a Doughty or Voynov or Muzzin or Martinez, but at least show you could do something useful, like McNabb does using his size. Be assertive, show some intensity. I see none of that in him and that is something intrinsic that he lacks.

And I guess incidental contact is now an interference penalty? Some weak ass calls the Kings have been nailed with in the last two games.

Would've been nice if Carter netted that shorty. Oh Drew, so close. That's why he's the best and most important player on the team, he can be a game changer.
