Game #14 11/06/14: Isles 2, Kings 1 (SO)

Drew Doughty is playing some ugly/lazy hockey. My goodness he looks terrible. Never going to win a Norris playing like this Drew....

He's playing like Quick when he goes into one of his things. Too much athlete, not enough goalie. Too much athlete, not enough defenseman. Just sort of all over the place, and it doesn't help anyone.

It's a frustrating team sometimes. They've obviously done more than any Kings fan could've ever hoped for, but they can also leave you wanting so often. The regular season is an 82 game, 6 month marathon, and these guys are human beings, but still.

It's not hard to see why the Islanders are going to be a great team this year. Adding Boychuk and Leddy were genius moves and exactly what they needed. Now, all of a sudden they are a force defensively and have some really good offensive players as well. They look like they can do some damage in the East this year...

IMHO, not having Voynov is hurting us but Mitchell was a key factor in our success. We need to try and find someone else who can fill his role on our team.

It's called playing to many minutes a game and trying to do to much. I think they should take him off the #1 PP to give him some rest. He was gassed in the 3rd period. Anyway he is waiting for the playoffs when he picks it up and becomes the best player out there.

Fun game, tough to find space out there. Props to the Isles for survival.

We're starting to show signs of life but I wouldn't be surprised if/opposed to if there was a move soon.

Poor Quick is saving us a spot, let's hope he keeps it up while all the walking wounded find their legs and we figure out our team defense.

The game was fun and uptempo... good fast Kings hockey...

Defense wasn't great, but still only allowed 1 goal... offense needs to come from somewhere... just aren't going to score many goals against backup goalies...

Trade: Lombardi will try to wait until the deadline unless something like the Kings finishing November with 4 wins, and dropping out of the playoff race forces his hand... Or a team makes a desperation move and offloads someone with great poetential for peanuts... Hopefully the offense wakes up at some point this month...

McNabb/Greene... just awesome... Both should be paired with a PMD... maybe McNabb gets better at moving the puck as he goes along. Current D composition doesn't allow for this...

Agree on Mitchell, what he gave is sorely missed, esp controlling the temperture of the game and those strong breakout passes. And great lockeroom guy.

Isles- What those trades did, along with adding Halak and 2nd line scoring support was it took a weight of Tavares shoulders. he doesn't have to carry them anymore , like he did in aSpring 2012 when he was one man force driving them into the playoffs. More soldiers to carry the load, is good for him, he's not only an elite talent but a hard working leader.
