The Big Smoke (unfortunately)
Interesting to note that post-game comment threads are small for two shutout wins in a row.

Contrast that with the huge post-game comment thread after the loss to Carolina.
People are happy. They go on with their evenings. When they lose, and especially when they play like crap, people are pissed and vent in order to get it out. It’s cathartic. Has nothing to do with people only being happy when they lose.

Anybody else think the Bruins have changed some of their systems?

DZ: They look like they've gone back to a box+1 in the Dzone. Every time they were stuck defending today they were in that set up. They're not running around, they're not frequently out of position all of a sudden.

OZ: They're shooting a TON more. 30 shots in the first 2 periods today. Taking a page from Florida here: shots and net front traffic.

PP: They've shifted E.Lindholm to the wall and have both Coyle and Marchand at the posts. Coyle shifts between side of the net and net front, Pasta shifts between elbow and bumper. It's a new look, an innovative look, and that plus the movement it requires makes it hard to defend.

I wonder if Monty met with the players and they came up this approach, or if Monty just made the changes and the players were excited about it... All I know is the effort and intensity are suddenly better. There is buy-in again. They look organized and focused again.

Im going with he tweaked something and keeping him out was just precautionary
Just the way he was gliding around my hunch would be a groin.
I had one years ago. Fine when walking, pushing off when skating....not joyful.

As for Coyle....he carried the puck much much more instead of dishing it off. Hopefully he continues that. Dude is hard to move off of.

I love Jack and wish him the best. How the doctors figure out whatever it's going on with his speech. it's good that he has a sense of humor about it. Honestly sounds like he took Ambien and coffee at the same time.
I'm not a Bruins fan. In fact they are one of my least favorite teams but I grew up in Boston listening to Cusick, Shea, Arnold and then Jack. He wasn't everyones cup of tea but even for a rival fan he made the games fun. I hope they figure out what is going on with his speech and I wish Jack the best.

I definitely noticed that they have defended the slot much better these last 2 games.

Win the games you should win....in March the W counts the same two points as any other win

Excellent first period for the Bs - with a modicum of finish they put this one away early
Ok second period for both teams ...nothing outstanding, nothing egregious
Third period was clearly an empty tank for the Bs ..and Sway stood up and kept the Kracken off the board

A couple of observations

-a very quiet crowd.....odd start time a little loggy from setting the clocks back -whatever

- most of the time Frederick has not been very impressive but kudos but for stepping up and pounding Larsson ...that type of reaction will tell teams they can't keep cheap-shooting Matty

-both Bs goals were high skill- a sweet deke by Coyle and a master tip by Barazeau

-back to back shut-outs can do wonders to get a team back on the right track- the litmus test is Tuesday in Leaf land. Will need to tape it while watching the election results. One of the few times the Bs come in as my second priority

Back from Buff's, I'm buzzed, glad the B's started well and took advantage of a Kraken team on a short turnaround. My only quibble might be failing to extend the lead and letting Seattle hang around a bit. Sway was excellent in the latter half, in particular the third period blocker save in traffic. That shot was labeled.

Glad Frederic dummied Larsson for that hit on Poitras

As he should IMO. It's a clean hit. Got the extra two minutes, but the response is key. The notion that you can't/shouldn't respond to clean hits is dumb. Poitras was getting into it at the end of the Philly game. Marchand sticking it to Montour at the end of this game. Emotionally invested is a good sign. Love seeing that stuff.

Probably should have had 4 or 5 goals. Maybe more.

I really like the Zadorov-McAvoy pairing. Keep it together for awhile. More familiarity will breed better decisions IMO, specifically with Zadorov.

4th line has been great. Can't say enough. Even when they don't score.

Waaaaay better team defence which in turned lead to more offence tho will say they’ve been winning puck battles in offensive zone too and cause they’re moving there feet it lead to a decent amount of PP time vs when they haven’t been stupid penalties against kept occurring.

Keep it up boys.
