It's his first great game of the season, I agree, but his problem isn't that he can't get to this level, it's that he can't stay there consistently for very long. I think there's still a chance he does but it's sort of this upcoming month or two or bust for showing that. He's not young and has had years of experience.

We'll see, I was happy with his game tonight, all the better if he can sustain it, but we'll see.

In terms of goalie years, he is still pretty young. There isn't really anything out there on the goalie market better, absent giving up major assets and his cap hit is quite reasonable. And while Samsonov had a few decent games, I'm really not sold he won't have many games like the LA game where he was pathetic. I certainly didn't want to trade Thompson, but he wanted out, I just think Hill is by far our best option and hope he doesn't go into a funk like he did last spring (though he was pretty good vs. Dallas and not the reason we lost).

Glad they came back. Hill was finally having a great game and was going to take an L due to a fluke bounce. Plus f*** Edmonton.
