I really love watching Kyle Turris out there. Outside of Karlsson/Anderson/Spezza, I think he is quickly becoming our 4th most important player.

Methot is awesome too. We're lucky that our "pro scouting" sucks

I don't get why Zibanejad plays more than Da Costa... I'm high on Zibanejad and thinks he has a good future but Da Costa is older and more experienced. Better playmaker too and that's WHAT we need right now.

Zibanejad-Turris-Alfredsson
Silfverberg-Da Costa-Michalek
Condra-Smith-Neil
Greening-OBrien-Daugavins

Can't wait to get Regin and or Latendresse back... Daugavins and Greening are not doing a lot.

If we win the Cup I will reconsider.

I don't get that...

What do we know about Landeskog and Zibanejad careers? I mean they are freaking 19 y/o...

Having Anderson over Elliott might worth the difference between Landeskog and Zibanejad.

And even then, what am I talking about? Having Anderson at the end of the 2010-11 is not the ONLY reason why the team played better and finished 5th last instead of 2nd last...

Greening, Condra, Spezza was back and healthy, Butler, Karlsson's emerging, youth movement, team without any pressure, new coach,... There's tons of factors that helped the team finished the year better.

Thinking that getting Anderson is THE REASON why we didn't get Landeskog is utterly stupid, but I'm not even surprised by anything on HF (or the internet) really.

I like the kid, don't get me wrong, but if we could get a legit 1st line forward young enough to fit into our future plan for him, I'd make that trade 100 out of 50 times.

I'm a huge Lehner fan but I agree we have to investigate about the possiblity...

It'd have to be for a young rising star, a 1st line forward

Names anyone?

don't get me wrong, anderson's playing awesome and absoutely carrying this team but past has proven that such numbers can be flukely increased. see jonathan quick, elliot last year. there are several more examples of goalies that only had one or two good seasons.

What? Quick is an elite goalie and shouldn't be in the same sentence as Brian Elliott.

P.S- Could we trade Defense's??

No, but many Sens fans would probably say yes as they think we have the weakest one (or close) in the NHL

Hall.
Eberle.
Yakupov.

Ok but is it realistically possible to get one of those for Lehner straight up?

I wouldn't mind parting with other pieces like Greening, Da Costa, Hoffman, Gryba if that was possible...

No idea but if we could get Eberle or Hall for Lehner (and say + Greening + Hoffman), I'd say do it.

Dat Zibby one-timer (drool)

This. Zbad really deserved a goal on that shot. Sucks.

Since our PP struggles so much, I think having him stationed there and using the umbrella style seems to make the most sense. Alfie used to be lethal from that spot but not quite as dominate there now. MZ's shot is a weapon, we might as well use it. Let Alfie, Karlsson, etc handle the puck - but get him there for that shot.

hm i understand that some people get totally carried away with the play anderson is currently showing. but i think it's way too early to draw such a decision. don't get me wrong, anderson's playing awesome and absoutely carrying this team but past has proven that such numbers can be flukely increased. see jonathan quick, elliot last year. there are several more examples of goalies that only had one or two good seasons.
i like that anderson has 3 (?) more years left on this contract and we could use everyone of these but let's wait those years and reevaluate then. because in contrast to lehner's calder cup and playoff mvp at 19, anderson hasn't won a single post-season series at pro level, as far as i recall.

sorry for the killjoy

have you ever seen anderson play a playoff game?:help:

As far as I'm concerned, Lehner should not be floated unless we are getting far and away the best player in the trade. I think his upside is too high, and trading him away after being so patient is a bad idea.

Anderson is good, really good, but he's 32. He could fetch a decent return too, in the the last year of his contract.

This game: Wasn't crazy about the way Greening and O'Brien played. Although I'd give the edge to Greening for at least trying to get to the net. Both gave the puck away far too often and looked behind the play most of the time.

About Da Costa:
The guy is a good passer, has a good shot and some really slick moves. A much smoother and faster skater than I expected. From what I saw he deserves more ice time on the pp and top line. Hope he takes his strength training seriously next summer it may be all that is keeping him from a permanent NHL centre spot.

Yeah I commented last night that I thought it might be worthwhile to replace Phillips with Da Bossta on PP2.

I'd like to see him on the point on the PP.
