The annoying thing is the fix will be H-H again whereas Harley and Lyubushkin actually have some chemistry developing and it's working as intended allowing Harley to be all over the ice

The defense Nill built is atrocious, and it's showing.

Going to be insufferable and rehash this sequence of events because it drives me up the wall and this is my only therapy

- Finally acquire the perfect Miro partner in Tanev that we've been looking for his entire career
- Coach plays him with Esa f***ing Lindell (sorry Esa, you're catching strays. It's not your fault)
- Nill loses out to Maple Leaf pajamas, panics, goes dumpster diving and predictably ends up with trash while feeding the fanbase astronomical levels of cope about how 30-year-old-team-#4 Dumba has untapped big minute potential

He clearly can't evaluate defensemen at the NHL level because he also thought Dumba and Lyubushkin were worth getting at all and worth committing multiple years too

In fairness to Nill, the team he assembled last season, with the addition of Tanev, was about as deep a team as you could realistically ask for in a cap world- had Vegas not been their first round matchup, things could have very well turned out a lot differently. In some ways, he has failed to secure the defense. Looked at another way, a top 3 of Heiskanen, Harley, and Lindell should be good enough a lot of the time- though the inability to secure another RD has always been the big issue. To be fair, I don’t know that those grow on trees.

I’m interested to see how Nill adjusts this season.
