I wanna see double digits here 10+ goals. Let's go in for the kill

Might need them if Hutch starts ;)

Personally this is the game you give him a chance to show what he has cause if Andy gets hurt, he's next up. If he can't hold this Canucks car wreck under 6 goals we need a new backup until Campbell returns.

If Hutch can't be trusted against this sad sack Canucks team, may as well start looking for somebody else. Good opportunity to rest Andy before the home and home vs Habs. Heck it might even inspire them to show up and give us a game.

Exactly. Start Hutch tomorrow and again after 10 days in the back to back. This way we can rest Andersen for two games while we wait for Campbell

I would try Vesey back with JT and Nylander, and reunite the Engvall-Kerfoot-Mikheyev 3rd line which was very effective last season.

Gotta win this for Wayne.

Engvall might jumpstart the offense on that third line

Hyman-Matthews-Marner
Vesey-Tavares-Nylander
Engvall-Kerfoot-Mikheyev
Petan-Spezza-Boyd

Of course, we finally get a true legit Tough Guy and he ends up injured. NHL Gods just want us to be soft forever.

Should be a good game to make a decision on the Canucks. If they don’t come out with a burr in their saddle after getting owned two games in a row, then they really are as awful as they look. Expect a spirited opponent.

Vesey is just kind of there.. he really hasn't earned it.

I kind of want to see what Engvalls speed can do with Jt/Nylander. Too bad he doesn't actually use his size or that could be a lethal combination to add to that duo. Might as well give him or Petan a shot there and seeif they can do more than Vesey or Mik.

It will be interesting to see how this team responds tomorrow to Simmonds being out. I know the Leafs are still trying to shake their "soft" reputation and Simmonds is clearly the best among the boys at providing truculence and providing that physical presence, but the Leafs aren't marshmallows as the Habs board is acting like in their pre-game thread ahead of Wednesday's matchup. Muzzin, Holl, and Bogosian provide the physical presence on the back-end. Up front there's a dearth of intimidation factor but Hyman is a dog on the puck and Matthews doesn't take much guff either. Also,

Wish Thornton was healthy. He's not an intimidator like Simmonds but he's big and isn't afraid to mix it up on the ice when needed.

EDIT: Can’t wait for a Habs team that’s barely tougher than ours with injuries to try to “grind” out a win Wednesday only to come away with us completely unintimidated. Calgary is a tougher and dirtier team than they are and we handled them just fine. Seems like they and some fans here are more interested in perpetuating narratives from years past than watching games with their own eyes. :dunno:

We lost a large chunk of our truculance. A quick peek of their game day thread shows that they have the right strategy to grind us. We better hope the refs call a "good" game and our PP can evens things out. Either way, we should be in for some good hockey.
