Agreed. Slaf stays. Laval is an absolute shitshow, by the reads of it, so he is better off here with Marty and his buddy Arber. Despite Michael Therrien's claims to the contrary you CAN adapt to the NHL while actually playing in the NHL.

Marchessault, Smith and Karlsson. They are very good together, I loved watching them.
Hoffman/Monahan/Drouin......outch! 100% ozone starts for those boys.
Eddy playing RD to Harris could be interesting. MSL probably wants to see how Eddy plays there.

Kovacevic will be a healthy scratch. Wideman will come back into the line-up and be paired with Xhekaj. Harris will be on the right of Edmundson.
Also, Hoffman comes back into the line-up and Pitlick will be a healthy scratch.

Holy shit this killed me.
Although we should be happy Hoff and Drou are on a line together and that Wideman gets back in. You know, it serves the long term purpose.

These are all Ducharme level decisions. Eddy and Arber played great together - break them up!!!! Why give rookie a good partner?

Not counting on it but if all stars align I might be able to watch the game live today. Wouldn't that be something?
The idea is likely to generate more offense at home. Not convinced by Wideman but he should be a better transition player than Kovacevic.

Wideman will be promptly back quarterbacking the first PP unit. Can't wait. Oh and I also believe that Arber is better offensively than Wideman.
5-3 Montreal. They always seem to beat Vegas. 2 goals for Caufield and Slaf first assist!
I agree I am no Wideman fan by any means, I think the rationale is above is the reason why MSL has him on board though

I preferred the Bash Bros. pairing with X and Edmundson as it gave Arber a partner who he could learn from, since their styles are similar.
However, it doesn’t mean they won’t get back together, it’s just one game, MSL is just shaking things up.
Agreed with his decision to sit Kovacevic — he just didn’t have it against his prior team. Hopefully being sat, jolts him.

I'm intrigued how Armia fits with Slafkovsky and Evans. They should have more minutes at home and I like Armia better than Hoffman, Pitlick and Pezzata as a player.
Seen Therien coach the Habs into the dirt twice. Never ever going to listen to his opinion on anything. If he told me the pizza at dominoes was the best, I'd order from pizza pizza.

Armia can play a legitimate energy role. Plus, he’s big and can use his size. Pitlick was miscast on a 4th line.

Agree about everything. Slaf played well with Anderson in preseason, Armia is somewhat similar in what he brings.

Yeah I would have liked to have seen Kovacevic not be benched after a bad game. Let him play through his mistakes. And, Eddy is a good partner. And, I'm not sure about Harris on the right...
