OTTAWA SENATORS (6-5-0) @ BUFFALO SABRES (4-7-1)
TV: TSN5, RDS2 | Radio: TSN 1200, 94.5 Unique-FM

While it’s too early for the Senators to think about making the playoffs for the first time since 2016-17, the Sabres — who have missed the NHL’s second season every year since 2010-11 — find themselves tied for the fewest points in the Eastern Conference.

Last year Sens tended to play down to their competition, they always showed up for the hard games but couldn’t carry momentum versus teams we thought they should be winning against. so if they are a new team with new habits they need to prove that by winning against lower seated team so they can build winning streaks

Win today and they have the same point total in games played as Tampa and that’s right about where they belong IMO. Lose and they are still in the airport lobby with Detroit, Montreal and Columbus waiting for their plane to take off

Not a must win, but a “they should definetly win this game to prove they aren’t the Sens of old and if they don’t they should hang their heads in shame”

Throughout human history, fortunes have been won or lost on the field of battle. From the first hunter-gatherers developing weapons to fend off would be scavengers, to the arenas of ancient Rome, through to the modern era, where we pit team vs team in highly organized events broadcast around the world that last for longer than they probably should. Where people inherit their parents team, not through any sense of logic or choice, but through the sheer weight of expectation and cultural belonging. Where facts give way to an unending belief that your team, not theirs, is right and deserves to win.

Thousands of years of human history, all culminating tonight...

...In Buffalo losing because our team is the better team who deserves to win and if you think otherwise you can kiss my ass. I don't care about your facts - fake news!

Get f***ed Buffalo!

Sens feasting on some Buffalo wings tonight! Just play the same game without taking the opposition lightly! Would love to see Zuuuuuuub back tonight, but won’t be surprised if they held him back another game. This team is trending up and getting better with each healthy body returning to the lineup.

Blow Sabres Blow, Go Sens Go!

Just imagine when Zub, Pinto and Perron are back.

Subtract Hammer, Macewen and who from
the line up?

It'll probably be Ostapchuk, although I'd be OK with Cousins sitting as well. He hasn't been bad at all but I've actually enjoyed MacEwen's play this year.

Tkachuk - Stü - Greig
Giroux - Norris - Batherson
Perron - Pinto - Amadio
Ostapchuk/Gregor - Gaudette - MacEwen
Cousins

That would be my preferred forward group right now. I think eventually Gaudette probably cools off and we see a 4th line of Cousins - Gregor/Ostapchuk - MacEwen. We actually have some nice 4ht line options this year. We need to add defensive depth, IMO.
