Funny how JR went out of his way to justify the Johnson signing. Old man is stuck in 2006.

Looks like Torts ain't that crazy after all (well tbh even fans weren't thrilled about that one either).

Feel bad for G that his point streak is going to end...

This team lacks so much consistency from game to game...sad

At this point, they need something to work towards...what they need is to go into the tank even more and fall to the bottom of the Metro standings...ain’t nothing going to happen to toughen this team up, focus the team, unless they get some adversity ... they’ll stop coasting

I'm a little (or a lot) disappointed in the fact that if Sid and Geno aren't on their game, the Pens aren't getting secondary scoring from the depth guys. It seems like we're back to the big boys having to carry the entire load offensively, and the nights they aren't, we have games like tonight where we can't buy a goal.

Also, holy hell. This defense corps that JR has assembled is all sorts of special (and not the good kind of special).

Lol yes we don’t look good tonight but yinz are crazy. We are first in our division but by just reading this board sometimes you’d think we are still watching Ramzi abid on the first line. I just cannot handle the craziness on here sometimes. Not a shot at you man but no reason to go full Edwards atm lol

I mean. This roster should be near unstoppable.

How pumped were we to have the best forward and defensive corps in a couple of years?

Get rid of all that dead weight.

Well. Oops. The bottom six dead weight are all scoring with their new teams. New lines here suck. Defense is shit.

I mean. Holy hell we can exaggerate at times. But is THE SAME STUPID ON ICE PRODUCT AS LAST YEAR tolerable?

They looked like crap most of last year. Busted ass to barely make post season. Accidentally beat Philly. And finally flamed out with WSH.

Ugh. Sid and Geno or nothing. Ugh.

TRASH tier:
Grant
Ruhwedel
Johnson

These guys are a waste of time and money. Ruh and Johnson hurt the team by being on it objectively shift by shift.

MEH tier:
Sheahan
Maatta
Oleksiak

These guys barely fit the team identity. Maatta can make smart plays but he stays here because his skating is not NHL level anymore. Sheahan doesn’t make plays that don’t involve hitting the post. Oleksiak can make plays but sucks ass in between said plays. These are guys that should be our worst players on a good team.

Should be good tier:
Rust
Brassard

Rust is everything the team needs and everything he currently isn’t. Jury is out on Brass.

Hard to say no to the franchise player that wants to help a friend.

It really shouldn’t be that hard when the friend is a bad hockey player...that’s why they pay people in management to make decisions...this is not a charity

Because overall record 9 games in can be deceiving. If you watched this team last year, the past 3 games are all too familiar. Loads of offensive talent with no urgency. They're not into it.

The forward lines aren't outskating opponents like they did 2-3 years ago. When they did that, they could cover for glaring Defensive issues.

It’s November long way to go. Without the inability to win a shootout we could be 8-3 even as is with a loss tonight we are on pace for 103 while being poop. Could be much worse and the line blending isn’t helping.
