Dude is SO BAD Geno had to interfere one shift with a Leafs player chasing Oleksiak just so he wouldn't **** up again with the puck in the defensive zone.

1. Oleksiak MIGHT be the 3rd best defenseman on this team right now.
2. Sergei Gonchar at 44 would be 10X better.

I've seen them rally after Murray periods like that quite a few times before. He made some huge saves to keep this a game and I'll be surprised if the team doesn't know it.

I'm a little (or a lot) disappointed in the fact that if Sid and Geno aren't on their game, the Pens aren't getting secondary scoring from the depth guys. It seems like we're back to the big boys having to carry the entire load offensively, and the nights they aren't, we have games like tonight where we can't buy a goal.

Also, holy hell. This defense corps that JR has assembled is all sorts of special (and not the good kind of special).

I just dont understand why Rutheford wanted to get slower when whole league is going faster and faster. It's truly baffling

I get the D problems. Like theres JJ who you have to shelter then the shine has worn off Ruh and all of Olli, Rig are very capable of bad nights. It's just a mess.

But these F's are really screwing the pooch.
Even without Brass, they shouldn't be this impotent.
