Don't know about Fox, but there's a good chance imo that Chytil and Shesterkin are out there last year in the same situation.

I don't think this is a sudden change in absurd injury luck. I think it's more likely that this is a change in diagnosing and managing.
Fox would have 100000% been out, Chytil too.

The difference is that Fox would probably miss 2 weeks tops and Chytil would be rushed back in if they hit a skid. There are few things the old crew loved more than rushing people back from injuries. I'm still annoyed that they were trying to fast track Shattenkirk back into the lineup after the letter was sent out and they obviously were calling it quits on the season... where he went on to have a pretty big set back because his knee wasn't fully healed.

the team had hardly any injuries the last 2 years.

I know a lot of us suspected a lot of players were playing thru injury last season.

Maybe thats why Ramsey was let go?

It's wonderful that they are a net zero and don't give up much defensively but eventually to be a very very good team your first line has to start to produce.

Yeah, but knowing this team it would have been better to put a Kreider-Zib-Kakko line together in March when Zib is awake again.

The Rangers killed themselves trying to win the President’s Trophy in the mid 2010s. And seeding didn’t really matter—it’s about being healthy and firing on all cylinders in April.
It really stopped mattering when they changed from 1-8 to the new format, IMO.

No one wanted to play the top seed every round back in the day, but the divisions being broken up made that less of a disadvantage.

Plus Boston was unbeatable last year and look what happened in the playoffs. Madness.

With a 3-1 series lead no less.

Though a bunch of people called for that upset. Montgomery 100% played it into one by leaning on an injured Ullmark for as long as he did but it wasn't the shocker of the century that Tampa-Columbus was (which really furthers your point.)

If Jones-Schneider are anywhere near as bad tonight as they have been every other time they've been on the ice together, then Drury is going to have a busy week.

Credit Schneider for being boyishly upbeat after getting a beatdown. He's always happy to talk in front of a mic.

As much as I’ve been enjoying the coaching this season, I have to believe that if Albert Einstein thinks Peter Laviolette is insane then it must me true.
Hey coach!
Lindgren/Jones
Miller/Trouba
Gustafsson/Schneider

Derek Lalonde needs to be the live-action version of Gru.

With Fox out for perhaps a couple months, I think Jones-Schneider are so terrible together that Drury is going to have to act quick to repair that 3rd pair.

Maybe it will be recalling Harpur to play with Schneider, or maybe he'll start looking around the league at other #7 options; but either way, if Jones can't play reasonable minutes with Schneider, then he's kind of forced to start shopping him too. Having a 7th dman that can't be trusted to play with your #6 is a pretty brutal situation to be in.
