Positioning...NHL D can't get caught flatfooted and behind the play... Matthews got a fortunate bounce but if Chatfield was up the ice just a bit further he can likely make a play rather than looking like a rec league forward playing d.

Matthews needs to train with McDavid more often, he appears to have another gear this year. He looks 50% faster on the rush. An entirely new weapon for defenders to contend with.
