That sure looked like an ACL. Knees aren’t made to bend like that.

I'm hoping its just a strain and they are keeping him out to be safe.

It could be an ACL. Usually ACL/meniscus tears occur during a sudden deceleration/twisting motion with a planted foot. I'm thinking it's more likely to be MCL given how Marner fell on his leg (valgus stress). This play looked eerily similar to Jiricek's during last year's WJC though...

Please just let me live in my delusion for awhile longer, until the official report comes.

A partial MCL tear? Out 6-8 weeks? I suppose that's better than the 9-12 month MCL and ACL tear, with possible 4 week delay for operation to let the swelling go down. The Hockey gods don't want us to have too much enjoyment this season.

We don't know if anything is torn, but IF there is a tear, then an MRI will be able to determine where the tear is and the degree of the tear. Without that information, it's impossible to say how long he will be out for.

If there is a tear we likely won't know until tomorrow. They will send him for scans right away but I doubt we get an update tonight.

Has Colt ever had a Hat Trick?

Nope, and he never will now. Thanks to you. Jinx.

That's correct. We as fans won't know until tomorrow, but I will say that the trainer/team physician probably has some idea right now based on examination presumably after he was brought off the ice.

Remember that time Parayko blew out his knee, and missed like one shift then was totally fine?
Have you tuned in to the Blues this season?
Brace yourself for the worst possible outcome, cause that's probably how it going to end up.

Toro or Dingo need to put Marner into orbit.

I hope Toronto gets bounced first round game 7 again since their fans want to make jokes and laugh about another teams player getting injured.

.
If there is too much swelling, then they will wait until it goes down enough to scan the knee. I think that’s how they still do stuff like this.
