Can the Heinen haters finally admit he adds something to this team other than the beast shit kicking they crave

Lots of guys add something.

I mean when Looch and Lauko come back, would the team suffer if they sent Heinen to Providence and kept Steen up?

I doubt it.

The problem I have is that he’s inconsistent, lousy when it matters (playoffs) and will never, ever have a teammates back.

Bit of a strange scrappy period where neither team could really get into a flow, except for Dallas in the patch around their PP. But no damage done for the Bs. Need to bring this home with a good 3rd period playing simple north-south on the road hockey.

Old time hockey, some great board battles ..Pasta is due ...he's had some looks. Keep it simple third period and let Sway see every shot.

No, because it’s his MO. He’ll have a good game for a few and then disappear for 30. It’s why he bounces around. I swear it’s déjà vu, this was the same argument when he was last in Boston. He’d have a few good games, the Heinen fans come out and gloat, then he disappears and not a peep.

I hope he keeps it up, but not about to be fooled by a couple of good games again.

I'll have to take your work for it about the playoffs. Nothing stands out in my memory. But as a 13th forward who can come in and fill in. I can't imagine anyone much better.

This is by far the best stint Steen has had with the Bruins, playing really well, hard and hungry. Heinen has been excellent, his compete level was better then I remember from his previous time in Boston, he is very responsible in his own end.

Is except you're missing one point. He wasn't signed as a first line left winger. He was signed as a utility forward who has experience and Is defensive and scoring ability.

LORHEI'S iQ, passing, offensive ability is wayyyy beyond his experience. Can anyone imagine what he will be like in 2 to 4 years because I cant

Honesty it’s his passes on the breakout to the forwards that impress me the most. It’s always tape to tape in stride. It just looks like an “easy catchable pass” that “leads the receiver” to cross sports. I’m completely enamored with them.

Here’s my issue with that though.

We‘re all excited watching Beecher and Lohrei score their first goals and about Poitras in general.

People said Lohrei wasn’t great in Providence this year and look at him now, he’s looking pretty good.

I‘d much rather see young guys get in the lineup if someone goes down than Heinen.

He is what he is…a marginal, inconsistent, NHL’er 4th liner.

A dime a dozen guy.

Who gives you a good week then disappears for 2.

Theres a reason why 31 teams ignored him this off season.

The BRUINS, based on an anemic offense, can not afford the luxury of two elite goaltenders. So my prediction is before or at the trade deadline DS will trade Ullmark for either two forwards or one forward and an offensive minded blueliner. I also predict that DS will trade JDB.

Bold predictions to say the least. Ully disappointed in the playoffs while Swayman holds more value, is younger and cheaper. Swayman took them to arbitration too, B's brass never liked that.

Got home in time to watch the last 2.5 minutes of the period, I swear Lohrei was out the whole time.
And I missed Beecher and Lohreis first NHL goals!! :(

Heinen's not lousy in the playoffs. In the long 2019 run he had 8 points (not huge but serviceable), the Bruins scored more goals when he was on the ice then any other forward except Coyle, and his +7 was again 2nd best behind CC. That's a very solid effort for a mostly 3rd liner. Backed it up with 3 goals in 7 games for the Pens two years ago. No evidence there of lousiness.

Swayman having no trade protection is a spicy meatball that bums me out because I’d prefer he be the one they keep if only because of that 5 year age difference.

I see him as much more than a prime that doesn't player. He is very good on the penalty kill and is not useless offensively. IM SORRY but as a thirteenth forward utility player Who can fill in in many ways i'm sorry but I can't think of many better
