Game #12 11/02/14: Carolina Hurricanse 3, LA Kings 2

Yeah, but that's only because Quick went down and it's really difficult for any goalie to jump into a game and win.

Seems like they're using this road trip as a vacation, just get through it without getting hurt and shaking off the offseason cobwebs.

In all seriousness, the loss of Voynov is hurting them more than anyone is acknowledging. He really is unappreciated by many around these parts.

One or both of Muzzin and McNabb need to be sitting. Whether you believe that Muzzin is hurt or just sucking, both these guys playing horrifically is killing our D right now. Not to mention, Greene, Regher and Mcnabb can't really play with one another for any extended period of time because they can't get the puck out of their own end. What that leave us with is DOughty and Martinez as the only two guys that can move the puck, and with our D pairings are constantly being jumbled throughout the game and it's clear it's making things hard on them to be constantly revolving partners.

Hopefully though everyone playing with everyone will benefit us down the road, but god damn we need Voynov back asap, and McNabb in the lineup only on spot duty in place of Greene or Regher until he gets some confidence and experience under his belt.

I agree. Martinez is the only defenseman that is playing well at this time.

Honestly the Kings don't look much worse than they did during the winning streak, it's just that the ridiculous scoring pace of the Carter-line slowed down a bit and Quick isn't completely shutting everything down. The rest of the guys need to catch up, they won't truly be competitive as a team until they do. Been waiting all season.

I agree with you, though I do believe that is at least in part due to the fact that he's playing with someone different nearly every shift. Of course you can argue that a 7mil defenseman should be able to adjust to that, but when you're rolling out there with Muzzin and McNabb playing the way they are, or with a cement head like Regher, it's gotta be tough.
