That was amazing footage there of a babyface Ozzy on the bench next to Probert. They looked more like father and son than teammates.

That little story right there tells you something about Shanny. Not many guys were willing to go toe to toe with Probie. None of the rest were well over 1000 points in their career

I thought for two periods they did a nice job moving the puck up ice, better organized in their own end. Nothing to show for it at ES., some good chances missed because guys either trying to be too cute or missing the net. Really liking Berggren's effort level and engagement. Unlucky not to score on a great deflection and had other chances too.

Kane can't put up points with the linemates Berggren gets, so what difference does it make? Sprong is a finisher that doesn't interact with his linemates. He'd score the same regardless of where he's playing.

Excuses is all we get with Berggren.

Oh man, a Kelly's Heroes reference with Oddball (RIP, Donald Sutherland). Classic fun movie, seen countless times. Partied in Spain in the mid-70s with someone who was on location during filming in then-Yugoslavia. Many days' worth of hilarious stories about shenanigans with cast and crew. Thanks Dalem.

If memory serves Shanny got in a fight in his first game as a Red Wing standing up for a teammate.

I also remember him fighting Brashear I think it was as a Ranger to defend Jagr. Shanny was all heart. A true power forward.

Eh, maybe over a whiskey. Some things a gentleman ... My story-teller was the wife of a guy who had a major credit, and Rickles got down on his knees in front of her one day, with an audience around of course to hear, and begged her to do whatever she could, even if it involved what I can only describe as an unmentionable act, to make sure his scenes didn't get cut. Rickles was never not "on", just a constant chatterbox of cheerful insults of everyone from Eastwood down to props and makeup, followed by the big smile that told you not to take it personally and that he loved you. There was a strange story involving Sutherland's wife (the daughter of the leader of one of Canada's major parties) allegedly supplying weapons to the Black Panthers and that Donald was going to have to write a big cheque to bail her out of trouble. Jokes about whether Russian spies were somewhere, maybe planted among the extras or local workers, keeping Moscow aware of the movie army's strength and movements. Stuff like that, times 100.

Not a bad game overall. That 1st pp was actually going good until the Larkin misshap. But love how Larkin put the team on his shoulders and just beat the Sabres by himself. This team really hasn't improved over the last 2 seasons though. Same. We're actually behind pace in points than last year and even the year before. 2pts behind last year after 11 games.

I believe 2 games out of 11.
I think we outshot the Oilers 15 to 7 in period 1. Not sure.

Thought Berggren was the best Wing in the 1st.

1 point in 11 games. No production.

He is not a problem. It's coach and GM. Outside our swedish players nobody is trying.

And he has made a big step forward. Raymond too.
I see this team differently than most of the posters here.
I am very happy with our record after 11 games, it is amazing so far. Not pretty, but effective.
If we can get Raymond and Seider at the same level as Larkin,after 20 games, we will have a great possibility to build the team around these 3 and we will see much better results the second part of the season. The team went collapse as the previous season's.
Edvidsson is a huge addition too. I am looking forward to watch this team develop.

Shanahan is the best. I like him better than Yzerman, Lidstrom and Fedorov.
