Carlyle was the problem right?
yes
if the same Gibson of the last couple games (not a complaint, he was ridiculous at the beginning last year) was playing the beginning of last year, we would have been a bottom 3 team in points.
This year's team is definitely better coached and more fun to watch, but in answer in part, it's just not a very good team yet

Too soon to judge. The Ducks started hot last year. Basically the same record over the first 8 games. Things went downhill around the All Star break.

Damn Guhle sucked today... what’s the use of great skating if you don’t have balance and trip over yourself several times a game, and when you can’t handle the puck at high speeds. He probably needs to be in the AHL still and would be as a Sabre, not a top 4. He makes me nervous every time he’s out there. Panicked too much and can’t slow the game with the puck.

Gibbys 2nd identical goal killed us. He’s been average the past few games.

Steel played the best, and regulars Cam, Hampus, Silver. and Rowney were our most consistent guys.

He was set up for failure with a bad soft injured team and this was without the young kids.
nope, this is nonsense. Carlyle is one of those coaches that can do well enough with a good roster for one season before his message gets old and the players tune out. this team under him steadily got worse and worse under his coaching to the point his system was literally pushing gibson to the breaking point. he was easily one of the main problems this team had.

I'm not saying he was doing a good job his final season. I'm saying the roster was so bad that he did not even have a chance and to this day he is constantly getting bashed to ridiculous levels. I don't want him rehired im just pointing out Murray should have gotten the blame and criticism

Carlyle was the only reason an old injured soft team was bad. Ok
Dirk, even if you want to pretend that the team wasn’t unwatchable bad last year to the eye test, the players have said it was no fun to play for him and his system was incomprehensible. He was absolutely the principal issue last year

I agree I'm just saying the roster he was given had no chance. It was not his type of team
He gets excessively bashed like he was the worst coach in the history of hockey

Carlyle was not the only reason Ducks were bad last year, but he was the main one. Teams don't quit twice on good coaches. Good coaches adjust, adapt, and deploy their personnel in an intelligent way. BM tried to cling to the past a year too long.
Nah. The roster stunk. That’s why they started making trades and eventually brought up the children when the season was completely out of hand. They didn’t have a roster that could play quicker the majority of the season. System doesn’t make a difference if the talent isn’t there. As these last three games have shown.

You are right that they are both dinosaurs that should have been out of hockey years ago.

Carlyle ended up not being able to coach here or anywhere else. His time in Toronto was a disaster. The 2013 3rd period of game 7 against the Bruins could be the greatest meltdown in the history of the NHL.

As for Murray, the youth comes from the scouts, the veterans come from Murray. We have had some horrendous signings. But Bob’s job is to put the least expensive decent product on the ice, so he has succeeded in what he is paid to do. Plain and simple. Either accept it or move on.
