Ok, with Coyle on the ice the Bruins outshot Carolina 4-2, out-chanced them 5-3 and high danger chances were 4-1 for Boston.

He also had an xG% of 68.9%. He was the only player on Boston above 50%.
He is also a gigantic kitty kat that chokes in the playoffs. A draft pick to free up cap space would be a huge upgrade over Coyle. 1 goal this year, uno. He can go anytime for anything and I wouldn't mind.

The so-called leaders on this team have been so bad.

At the start of the game tonight I watched Lindholm win 4 Dzone draws back and all 4 times the Bruins were beat to the puck or forced to turn it over right away.

I watched Kastelic win a puck battle, give the puck to Marchand, drive to the net behind the D, only for Marchand to give it away.

I watched Beecher do the exact same thing, only to watch Pasta turn it over just inside the blue line (which led to a partial breakaway for Aho). Pasta turned it over 3 times on 3 consecutive zone entries on the 4 minute power play.

I watched McAvoy, Lindholm and Carlo all give pucks away to blow up breakouts. Hell Carlo scored on his own goalie twice tonight!

Who would've guessed that Matt Grzelcyk and Jake DeBrusk were the linchpins holding this team together? :sarcasm:
Team Chemistry matters.

Right now I see a bunch of individuals just trying to stay afloat by themselves, rather then together.

I know it's early. But it's a mess out there. Defensively. Offensively.

It's a wild departure.

So we went from a team with one good line to no good lines. Well done.

I kind of figured this might happen simply because we are slow and they are fast. That over simplifies but it's at the core of the issues. My money is on Monty being fired tomorrow.

Now maybe the man who should be fired is Sweeney, but it's likely the coach goes first. Sweeney built this team though. He did what he did with the goalies, he spent in free agency, he's botched the drafts on multiple occasions and he's the one who traded the future away for the present but didn't win the cup anyway.

We pay the price now. It's kind of been inevitable that this fall would come at some point but we aren't really positioned well for any sort of quick change. Perhaps the fastest/best plan is to admit things are over, tear down a good chunk of it and bring in tons of youth and speed and see where that goes. Might want a new GM with that sort of pedigree and mandate. I

It might take a few years. but watching this team just isn't any fun at all. It's boring and dull. It's painful and most definitely not entertaining.

So fire Monty now. See if that works, if not, fire Sweeney and tear it down.
This. Kudos to you all for giving them the views and ticket revenue but I cannot watch the same players who clearly cannot play top 6 NHL hockey fumble around out there.

So many guys are just not good enough anymore and now we'll see if Sweeney has the ability to make a trade Vegas style, or if he is going to continue to pretend to be the smartest guy in the room acquiring 3rd line talent and parading it out there as if it's top six material.

The experiment to replace the top six holes by 'committee' is over. It failed.

I ain't gonna beat a dead horse tonight. I got it off my chest after the Philly game.

This roster is seriously flawed. We'll get the defense sorted out, but there's no way this team is gonna score goals consistently.

Monty is a dead man walking. I'd also expect to see a few guys traded after the calendar year.

Super glad we gave Swayman that NTC....:thumbd:

You’re spot on with their best players. They’re all bad right now.

I’ll give the defense this. They all handle the puck like a grenade. To be fair, they receive less than zero support most nights from their centres offering easy outlets up the middle. They treat that parts of the ice like the 2023 Steelers did the area between the hash marks.

In addition, Ilost count tonight on how many times it happened, but the forwards are way too far up the walls as well on breakouts. Which is why they’re stationary and the dmen are rifling missiles off the walls into their shins 100 feet up the ice.

If I, a fan on his couch am noticing their issues/tendencies you know damn well pro coaches are.

Their whole offensive system is a tire fire and it starts on their own goal line.

Outside of that things look good, lol

This team has quit on the coach. I don't know what's going on, or why or how but when that happens the coach has to go. Maybe it's a leadership issue that they don't respect him or his game plan, I don't know. Yes the roster is flawed, but even an ahl team would look more prepared than this embarassment. Through 11 games not one area has shown improvement. PK and PP coach need to go as well. Complete failure to adjust. And please no Sacco or Leach.

The team’s star is trying to absolve the coach from blame for the recent debacles. In so doing he’s pointing a finger at someone else. “we’re not good enough”
