Honestly, this was a much better game than yesterday but that's about it. The Panthers were the better team in both games no doubt.

These two games show there is still a gap between the Stars and the champs.

In the offseason, the Stars swapped out a couple of depth d-men and replaced a couple of veteran forwards with rookies. Maybe those changes were good, but the team failed to measure up against the Panthers because the Stars’ top forwards aren’t producing enough while the Panthers saw their top forwards produce.

I saw that as well. Not sure Robinson/Johnston are a fit. Someone has to remind Duchene it is not an open passing lane when there is someone’s stick in it. Look at the empty netter as an example.

Yeah, this is still a playoff team with ease. They’re also still going to be heavy favorites against anyone they face in the first round.

But they’re not looking like a top contender. Not until the guys featured in all promo materials start scoring like they’re expected to.
