Let's say in the 3rd period Matt Calvert scores the tying goal off of his skate, as he's being pushed into the net by Carlson and he's clearly trying to catch and edge and stop himself. The ref calls no goal on the ice.

If Tortorella had a time out, he could call a coach's challenge and have the call reversed on the ice.

However, he's used that time out... no ability to reverse the call, and the legend of "Distinct Kicking Motion" continues unabated.

lol, you need to use your only timeout to initiate a coaches challenge? That doesn't seem right.
