Lolll, beers would help for sure, but as I mentioned the feel about this team is just different than past years and I agree with you !
This team is playing much better than recent prior years. It seems to be the strategies chosen by the new coaching staff plus more consistent effort by the players. I am happy not to listen to the DJ BS after the games.

He can really fly. Plays on the right side of the puck and makes smart plays. Liking his game.
He has looked very responsible on the PK too; right positioning and good movement to block shots.

We're starting to string together a streak of very strong games, going to be tough to beat if we keep this up
Once we get a healthy lineup with Zub, Pinto and perhaps Perron back, we will have an even better team. Hopefully the boys continue to play this up-tempo game with strong aggressive forechecking and sound D and N Zone play.

Anyone else getting Heatley vibes with Gaudette? Maybe it’s the neck protector.

Regardless absolutely great game by the team.

I am officially eating crow regarding Forsberg and have no shame in admitting I was wrong, he has been all you could ask for from a back up.
I am happy he is playing well; I fear he will regress.

Gaudette is scoring right now on the 4th line. Why on earth would anyone want to break that up? It's working perfectly and people want to break it up? That's bizarre.
As long as Gaudette keeps scoring on the 4th line I will be happy; however, he might score even more if he played with more offensively skilled players than Cousins and MacEwen. So I am OK with moving him up the lineup to find out.

They are genuinely awful.
Need to fire thei coach and hire one that will teach them how to play
Too early in the season for that to happen. I think St. Louis will remain HC for the entire season with an assessment next summer if things go south.

What do you think he's going to put up 2 goals game or something? He's scoring at close to a 50 goal pace lol, he's not going to score any more.

Every team would dream of having the production our 4th line is having. They tilt the ice every time they step on the ice, they're always playing in the offensive zone. To break up such a winning line would be complete lunacy.

As a 35 year old that has a sore back every morning getting out of bed, I have a hard time believing nothing will go wrong with him. ;)
At 75, that sore back gets even worse and soreness extends to the groin, knee joints, feet and hands! Not to mention the brain malfunctions.

Jesus. Don’t remind me of that fleece job Stevie Y pulled on us.
Don't confuse "us" with "Dorion" and his "Pro Scouts".

Statement win for the Senators.

Hard to come back home and deliver immediately after an emotional loss in New York where they outplayed the opposition but came out of it with no points.

It's kind of hard to exert a lot of negotiation pressure when your asset will only allow himself to be be traded to one team.
I don't think Debrincat had a NMC/NTC clause nor the ability to submit a list of teams he could be traded/not traded to.

Also Dorion was not forced to make that trade; he could have requested a higher draft pick instead of Kubalik or traded D to another team.

Best back to back games the Sens have played in 8 years?

I’d say easily. The Defence looks like it’s coached by Jacques Martin in Pitt, easy outlet plays to make and they have calm minds and they know the playbook.

I’d say the biggest improvement in our game (goaltending is the obvious choice) but the D always have a pass to make when they look up, it’s transformed the team.
The Fs are not leaving the D Zone for long passes anymore; they are staying there for the most part to help play defence without the puck and to provide a closer passing option for the Defencemen. It seems to be working better than the SJ system.

To have 3 is a real treat - we can see Kleven / JBD maturing before our very eyes! Very impressed with the D as a whole last night (including Hamonic, he had a very good game).
The addition of Yak next season is going to improve the RD immensely.

I kind of am interested in having Pinto play on the top line with Tkachuk & Stutzle, but the Perron/Pinto/Amadio line seemed pretty good, so maybe we leave it together. I have really liked Gaudette's hustle/shot, so I actually think he may work well on the top line (I have not been impressed with Greig there).

Tkachuk - Stutzle - Gaudette
Giroux - Norris - Batherson
Perron - Pinto - Amadio
Cousins - Grieg - Ostapchuk/MacEwen/Gregor
That's better IMO with Gaudette getting a trial run on the first or second line.

I like Gregor's speed and physicality better than what Cousins provides. I would sit Cousins as the 13th F.

I am tempted to keep Ostapchuk on the roster but I think he would develop more in the AHL this season; replace Cousins next season.

MacEwen provides the physicality we need on the roster so I would keep him; however, I would replace him if we could find a better policeman who could play decent defensive type hockey on the 4th line. Or possibly add a player who can play D competently as a backup 7th D if a D gets injured or tossed out of a game or if 2 Ds get simultaneous penalties.

Sebrango is gonna make you forget.
You seem high on him; why?

This whole 'two years without goal' thing the media has been running with about Gaudette is really weird. They're making it sound like he was on some Bill Muckalt-like run of futility. He only played 2 NHL games over that period!
Yah .. Gord Miller must have repeated that 10 times ... and every time I go HE WASN'T IN THE NHL

"Scoring even more" means more goals over time, not scoring goals at a higher pace or rate (GF/G).

Then it’s just the same mistake we made with DJ.

Yeah, but if he only wants to extend in Detroit, who would trade for him?

Only Dorion, and there is only one of him in the league.

He could request whatever he wants but Yzerman had him over a barrel and everyone knows it.
