It’s a 5 if they are down in the game, and 2 if they are up. Unfortunately the leafs had already 2 PP that period, and 3 penalties called if you count the AM goal. I still donno how you can’t call that a 2. You can see the one ref looking like “ugh man, I don’t wanna be the guy who gives them ANOTHER PP”. But you have to call that. Every call has been right so far except that non call

The problem is that looking like "the guy who gave another one up" is not nearly a bad as "the guy who allows hits that can end careers.".

game management>player safety in this league.

I wonder, are the Canadian refs just not good at their jobs? It's not even about consistency this season, it's just a lot of bad calls.
The Leafs are consistently at the bottom of the league in penalties drawn and this has been going on for years now. The refs are doing a great job of following their instructions.

I feel like Simmonds needs to respond in the 2nd. He was brought in for 1 reason first. We have enough scoring forwards. We need a message sent that you can't hit our guys like that.

Spezza has an absolute beauty slap shot. Wish he would use it more often. Credit to Hyman for that screen as well. We could have easily had another goal or two in that period.

Bogo was right there and should've at least grabbed a jersey and face wash that scrub Chatfield pos ... Should've been handled right then and there

We should really be up more than 1. Hopefully we don't start playing some defensive trap game with no offense now, which has happened a few times this season when we have a lead.

He has always had a cannon.

Overall I am pretty happy with his play. Solid player to have on your team.

He's off his angle because he's trying to looking around the screen.

That's the point
He's actually well off his angle before he even looks around Hyman. Once he shuffles to look it just got ridiculous.

If he's centered and looking around Hyman to the middle he would have been in fine position

Bad Angle + Bad look + Wrong side choice did him in
