In all honesty, I would be fuming if it was the other way around and Lindgren hit Pastrnak like that. It would've been sweeter if he got his revenge with a cleaner hit later on IMO but it's good to see him stick up for himself. His "what did I do?" reaction to the ref was hilarious, though.
Hammer not nail, I loved it by Pastrnak. Guaranteed there would have been a Bruins injury last night if Lindgren and Trouba continued running around as they did early.

Consequences for that type of style, they paid a price. Good for Pastrnak to set the tone. It wasn't a vicious headshot or baseball swing. Two minute minor.

I am out of ways to say how blown away I am by this team right now. Leaving 2011 aside for a second, THIS is the Bruins team I always asked Santa for.

Three thoughts/questions...

1. David Pastranak's goal... unbelievable. Just unbelievable. I love his talent and his love for the game.
Attention Don Sweeney:

2. What has gotten into Charlie Coyle??? Seriously, what button is being pushed this year that hasn’t been before? I know it’s unlikely he will stay this hot, but he’s off the chain!

3. I love the fight and aggressiveness. It’s very possible that the Bruins might not keep scoring at this rate for the whole season, but there is no reason they can’t maintain the aggressive state of mind for the rest of the year.

Tomorrow’s game is MUST SEE.

Can’t wait.

Lots of praise to go around so I’ll throw some Carlos way

Really awesome game by Carlo, I saw consistently solid d play, real great on the PK, great game

Clifton 23 minutes!!

Loved the response from Fredric after the hit, big goal.
Had a good pinch in the 3rd, and got a 1 timer from about 18 ft out, but shot it in the chest.
He has untapped offense. If he didn't get injured so often, I feel he'd develop it, but after each injury it usually takes him several games to start feeling comfortable again.

Thank god the days of “retaliate on the scoreboard” are gone. I don’t miss Cassidy’s brand of hockey at all.
Yup. Unfortunate that Lindgren was hurt on the play but I’ll kill that penalty any day of the week. Love to see him sticking up for himself.

I’d be pissed off if Lindgren hit Pasta like that, sure, but that’s hockey. As long as he doesn’t get out of control and makes the 2 minutes worth it, I’m fine with that. No reason why we can’t retaliate physically and on the scoreboard.

what should our lineup look like??

I honestly like lauko in there

who sits when krejci comes back?
i say smith is definitely sitting if healthy
who out of lauko greer freddy sits?
i think we need nosek in there for 4th line C

Pasta's game has changed. He gets nailed often (because he is SO good) but he is hitting back much more than he used to.
IMHO, Pasta gets nailed often because he often nails other players, unlike the Crosbys and McDavids of this hockey world.

Look at Ovechkin, one of the greatest goal scorers of all time. He’s always played with a chip on his shoulder and if someone ran him you can expect he’s going to come back just as hard. Love seeing some of that from Pastrnak. Like Foligno said, you kill those all day. Maybe guys will think twice about targeting Pastrnak.

Please tell me you are joking......

Was it late? Yes.
Was it blindside? :laugh::laugh::laugh:

Lindgren is a tough boy but he's no rookie. You bang Pasta and Bergie against the boards hard like that you should not only anticipate but should expect ALL reactions.

If you skate around the rink when Tom Wilson is on the ice and don't have your head up, it might not work out well. You nail Pasta and Bergie early in a game -- might want to use your peripheral vision and be alert.

If Lindgren were a caveman, his DNA would have left the gene pool last night.
Lindgren isn’t Tom Wilson and if he was still a Bruin, he’d be one of the most popular players on this roster. That hit on Pastrnak is exactly what you WANT your defensemen to do when the opportunity presents itself. Lindgren is what many want Brandon Carlo to become…

The Pasta hit was late and it was retaliatory. He did his 2 minutes and play continued. Exactly as it should have. That’s hockey, folks. Not sure why this is such a big deal…

Keep rotating the younger guys in the bottom 6 unless they really prove they should stay in the lineup. Trade Smith with a pick to make room for McAvoy’s return.

I missed the Jake goal. Holy **** what a play by Zacha to take that pass on his back hand and then dish it over to Jake. That was fantastic.

Hoping he starts performing like Seguin (as in improving his game, not scoring 40) did when he could finally play the middle for a different team.

Well said. I had no issue with it and hopefully people don't cry when the tide is turned.

It looks like i may need to eat an entire murder of crows. I was pretty skeptical of this team doing much this season. It's still early, but i'm "starting" to looking pretty dumb. I'm going to hold off on the crow for a bit though, on the off chance that my refusal to outright take me lumps is responsible for their performance

That kids a dog, we’d love him here. If you watched the playoffs last year he was in and out of the trainers room almost every game still laying guys out blocking shots etc. Respect the hell out of his game.

I had no trouble with Pasta's penalty nor with Greer's - yeah it put the team down a man for quite some time but sometimes you have to take a big hit to send a strong message to your opponent- you f*** with my teammates and I'll f*** you up. Bad.

Always watch the games. Now, I’m checking the schedule out ahead of time to set aside free time.

I live in Pa. Gonna check out a game in NJ in December and MSG in January.

I think even the most optimistic poster might have expected .600 at best with all the injuries. Just incredible.
If you told me the team would be at .500 or slightly better after this amount of game with all they have dealt with injury wise, I`d have taken it, what they are doing just opens the door to so many options.

What I mean by that is, at some point, this team will come back down to earth, they will hit a stretch or two where they lose a few in a row, not great but because of this start, they are in a position to absorb some of those losses.

Another area is that dreaded phrase 'load management". Not by any chance to I envision Monty asking Bergy or DK when he returns to take some games off but when it comes to in game play, he doesn`t have to lean on either for 20 mins a night either, the 3rd and 4th line are proving to be trustworthy to defend well and contribute.

Massive luxuries to have

I am sure they won't be able to keep this up.....well who knows?

At this moment I am just enjoying the ride.
with you there my friend

Yes late hit on Pasta but in my eyes the Lindgren hit on him was just as bad because he drove him into the boards at head level after Pasta was off balance , sure its a bang bang play but Lindgren chose to finish him .

Had some time to kill between meetings so I took everyone's production thus far and paced it out assuming they all played the remainder of the games this season. Obviously that won't happen as you can't ice 22 skaters and Forbort is now out for a bit, but still interesting to see some of these paces guys are playing at

Absolutely. You kill those all day every day. Happily.

Even if they score, the "message" resonates and its still a 'good' penalty in the long run. The classic contrast between "strategic" versus "tactical."

I had zero expectations, and no hope for anything better than one and done in the playoffs.

Hope.

All I've ever really wanted from this franchise.

I know it's only November 4th, but thank you, Bruins.

I heard Monty mention load management with players like Foligno already so I am sure Bergeron etc will get a break here & there to .

As he should have. We’d expect no less from our defensemen if that was Panarin on the receiving end…
