Likely to miss this game. Too bad, as it will be interesting to see how the team returns after the loss to the Leafs. Hoping they don't fall into a pattern of taking first periods off, as they've done in years past.

GJG.

Tool time?

My daughter has her band concert tonight so I will be missing this one.

It's always important to have the right attire for almost any tools.
I have a t-shirt for that...

Don't forget to get your guesses into the Prediction Contest before the puck drops...:thumbu:

Actually it surprises me how many people actually post during the day. For me I’m retired with an online teaching gig in the mornings so it allows for the time.
I don't work, just ask my boss...:sarcasm:

Interesting fact of the day: 20.22 million people work in Canada out a population of over 39 million, so just over half

Honestly regarding an earlier post about the interest in the boards dropping off after one loss, it's the middle of the week Halloween tomorrow and I think there is the elephant in the room.

This team was projected to do a lot better than it did. We all remember the Hockey News magazine cover predicting we'd win the Stanley Cup a few years ago. That was printed, I don't know, six, seven years ago. The team never blossomed in the playoffs. We had one nice run to the Western Final where we got properly stomped by the Knights. I'm not going to relitigate it, but I have strong beliefs on why we lost that series.

This team has to show us something in the playoffs after too many first-round exits. Bottom line.

I'm in a lecture hall 14 hours a week. How I spend the rest of my time at work is of no interest to anyone, as long as it's not on the interdiction list. For example, if I want to place a bet I have to do it on my phone, not on the laptop provided by the college. Posting to HF in my office is okay, even if it's not for the Leafs.

Mostly I spend my time preparing classes (the 3-1 ratio for prep time is a joke) and grading papers and drawing up assignments and ..... how I miss my grad student days.

I'm also going to miss our game tonight (yes, I actually have a date! - well drinks and supper after work) but I'm expecting the Jets to bounce back. Despite their work against Edmonton, the Wings haven't impressed me so I think we should dispose of them handily.

Sure wish we could score first though....

Gonna miss this one, taking my niece to Boo at the Zoo. I’m blaming my scheduling skills on this blunder.

Good for you! I tried Brrrr at the Zoo once and it was fun but I froze my best feature. Right now it's 21C here but I would never be so mean as to mention that in my posting.

And about 30% of the workforce work non-standard hours (shift-work). Then there are all the people with sleep disorders, exacerbated by social media.

I often find it more interesting to look at who is posting (or emailing me) from midnight to 6 AM.

I want some 5-on-5 goals. And a win.

Same. The win streak has bought the Jets some time time to fix the 5v5 play which so far is looking pretty dire. PP won't stay at ~45%, 6 on 5 goals won't keep coming, the Jets have already surpassed their 6 on 5 goals from all of last season and are only 1 goal behind all of the season before. If there is not an increase in 5v5 goal and chance production it won't be pretty.

Takes 8-1 start and a game not against Leafs to get some positive SN coverage.

Why do you care if the goals are 5v5? Do they count extra?
Probably something to do with spending 80-100% of the time at even strength. PPs are a luxury and a privilege.
