Maybe...you shouldn't play passive and concede OT. Rather go balls out in OT and lose, because you aren't winning a SO anyway.

I'm really sick of this but I'm even more sick of Deboer's "system". We don't have the horses for it anymore.
Agree PD needs to go.
****, 99 times out of 100 I'd be pretty pumped on that game. Some bad luck (and broken records) against a really good team but overall a great game.
And here's Jagr talking about how this is the first time they've been able to move the puck from the D to the forwards. I WONDER WHY THAT IS?
Larsson and Gelinas both had real good games, Zubrus and Ryder out of the top 6, Loktionov playing well as first line center, this is probably more in line with what this team should look like 100% of the time. Zajac had a great game, too. I'm sure everyone's super upset about this game but at this point all I can do is laugh. Wins will come with more games like that.
The overall offense looked as good as it has in half a decade with 5 mobile, puck-moving Dmen in the lineup. Hopefully we get more of this even when Salvador comes back. And hopefully tonight proved how much Harrold doesn't belong on this team full time, at least until he simplifies his game and stops trying to go 1v5 for 18 minutes a night.

Nope we don't. They show up for 5 minutes and still win the game.
Bottom line is we're not gonna win with this Deboer system. This has happened too many times since February of last year. We outshoot a team, we get 30+ shots on goal and score two goals. It happened in Ottawa too.
If Deboer sticks around, I'm sure we'll see plenty of games where nobody can question the effort of the team. We won't see too many wins though. When Lou hired Deboer, he had a team here that could win with that forechecking system. Lou needs to now find a coach that fits in with the guys we have on this team now.
That's my biggest issue with Deboer now. I don't like his treatment of young players, and I absolutely don't want him back next year. If his system was working and we were winning, I would gladly put up with him for the rest of the year. We're not winning though and the system is not working. We're not getting results.

When has playing against a backup ever been a good thing for this team? Usually it results in us making said backup look like Hasek in his prime.

Best part about tonight is Gelinas-Larsson. Adam made a dynamite pass in overtime and didnt make one-mistake on D. Gelinas looks like a major league NHL point man. Add Merrill to that and that's an outstanding Defensive foundation for the future.
