Malkin has been a force tonight. Absolute pleasure to watch. Crazy what some rest and rehab can do for a guy coming off knee surgery.
You're forgetting how fast Koltsov was. Dude's speed, in his prime, was unreal. He looks like Konstantin Koltzov out there, and coincidentally shares initials with him
Skates fast but doesn't really accomplish anything through skating fast.
Malkin really sticks out so if he actually worked on this in the offseason it would be huge. We are usually on the shitty side of FO's most games and it absolutely hurts us in many situations.Back to the faceoff stuff - Crosby is still taking his fair share. And the Penguins have won 66% of the faceoffs through two periods.
Malkin has won 10 of 12 and taken nine of his faceoffs in the offensive zone.
Sid is 5 of 9 and taken most of his faceoffs in the neutral zone.
Carter is 6 of 11.
Poehling is 5 of 7.
Guentzel is 2 of 3.
Rakell is 2 of 2.
Rakell and Guentzel have taken four of their five faceoffs in the offensive zone. Considering Sid is taking most of that line's faceoffs in the neutral zone, I think it's clear they're trying some different set plays or coverages and it's not an injury issue.
Not sure what people are realistically expecting from Kapanen. He’s paid 3.2 mil guys. That’s bottom six money.
Reminds me I caught my son trying to steal one of those from the basement.
still zero 5 on 5 pointsMalkin has been a force tonight. Absolute pleasure to watch. Crazy what some rest and rehab can do for a guy coming off knee surgery.
I'm just telling you what my source said that's pretty tight with him, take it for whatever you want. He wanted the 2C gigExcept if he had signed here with Geno resigned, he would have been playing LW on L2…and if he was a Geno replacement, he would be 2C…so I don’t get that logic lol
Went from a point per game on a bad knee to a ppg on a better knee against the coyotesMalkin has been a force tonight. Absolute pleasure to watch. Crazy what some rest and rehab can do for a guy coming off knee surgery.

A lot of that will be cause POJ has suckedOne comment to make, I feel like they're underusing Rutta so far. That is partially because they're leaning so heavily on Petry, who looks phenomenal in those minutes, but I'd be hoping for more ice time for Rutta if they're paying him $2.75 million.
Petry and Letang are both at 15 minutes, Dumoulin is at 14 minutes, Pettersson is at 12 minutes and both POJ and Rutta are at 9 minutes. I'm perfectly happy to give Petry and Letang those minutes, especially because it signals a big decrease in Letang's TOI from last year (25:47 last year, on pace for 22:30 tonight), but I think Rutta should be playing more as well.
Yeah, thank god we didn’t sign him…would much rather have MalkinI'm just telling you what my source said that's pretty tight with him, take it for whatever you want. He wanted the 2C gig
Has anyone actually called David Shrager?
