I literally don't care that this is Arizona. It's an NHL team and they aren't the worst. I'm just so happy to see exciting hockey back and a top 6 that is clearly capable of hanging with any team out there and a PP that is actually dangerous and dominating. We got a little work to do on the bottom 6. One game and all the usual qualifications, but this is exciting to watch. And Malkin looks 25 with his skating and decision-making. Never seen him bear down on faceoffs like this game 1 of the season.

I don't think Pettersson has been struggling tbh. That tripping call happened because Petry got beat (which I wouldn't really put that heavily on him), but that's the only negative I've seen from him today.

Agree with you on Kapanen and POJ, though.

I look at the skating which is a really good indicator of where players are and Geno is moving really well. Zucker is as well. Seem both are back to full health and in very good shape here. Dumo puck handling is suspect but actually he is moving reasonably well.

Yeah the issue with Malkin was if he was getting $8 million. At $6 million, he can miss 20 games a year and still be well worth his contract.

4) for 82 games…they will be healthy all season!
