I think it was a slap pass.now I am getting paranoid, that slapper just now looked like half strength

I'm convinced Mears is an AI. Like that IBM Watson machine.Mears: “everything but the finish”…lol, didn’t we hear that a lot last season
That second pair just feels stable with him out there. He has a ton of poise, and he's very strong.I feel like Petry today has been better than any of Matheson's best games from last year.
It's just a noticeable difference. Matheson "playing well" is him making some nice rushes and having a nice impact offensively at 5v5. Petry "playing well" is him having an impact in all areas of the game.
I get Paul Martin vibes from Petry. Not flashy, just gets the job done.I feel like Petry today has been better than any of Matheson's best games from last year.

I think the offense will come with our ability to find the point. We might actually get some goals from d this year.
Petts being unnoticeable is not a bad thing. Last year he was noticed for the wrong reasons.I think he's a huge reason that Pettersson has mostly been unnoticeable tonight. He's absolutely anchoring that pair.
Speaking of Pettersson, he had a really nice play defensively there to take the body on the Coyotes forward and get the puck up the ice.
Carter and Kap just need to play better for that to happen. Combinations aren't the problem. We need to figure out this bottom six...

I likE Heinen tonight, 25 also looks OK, others are quiet so far, they haven't had too many shifts thoughCarter and Kap just need to play better for that to happen. Combinations aren't the problem.

I think Carter looks solid but Kapanen looks confused. His thing is that he looks like he skates really fast but doesn't really accomplish anything with that skating.
You see him when he gets a break and can use his speed, but I genuinely do not remember anything happening with him using his speed.
