I mean Ottawa controlled the first, outside of two moments Toronto created two odd man rushes. That carried over to the second until the “boarding” penalty and then Toronto took control on the score board. Credit to them for executing but it’s one of those games where things went their way and they can’t expect to win a series like they won game 1.
Has to be concerning that the Leafs put up 6 without playing that well then.

Oh that was nice.

That crosscheck would earn a Leaf a major and suspension without a doubt. Sportsnet would have been having a townhall right now on how many games that would be.
We literally watched Matthews/Rielly get suspended 2 and 5 games for almost the exact same play lol, who cares I'd rather Greig play, he's an idiot.

after 20
ott 13 shot
tor 5 shot

ott scoring chance 7
tor scoring chance 7

Ottawa high scoring chance 1
toronto high scoring chance 4

Tell me what's Ottawa really controlled? Getting shot from everywhere?!?!

I really hope the refs are better next game. Some of the calls (both ways) were super soft for a playoff game.

I'm really amused by Leafs fans crying about the big mean Senators. Very un-"Battle of Ontario"-like.

Fortunately, it's a 7 game series, so it's unlikely the Leafs will get that kind of officiating again.

5on5 should be a concern for the Leafs
Ullmark should be a concern for the Sens

It's going to be a good series.

I can’t imagine what Sam Bennett is going to be allowed to do to Mathew’s.. god forbid the Leafs react back!

Just keep letting them bury themselves with undisciplined play and the Leafs will get rid of them in short order

Lmao there's nothing "mean" about the senators. Looked like a bunch of fake tryhards. Crying all game.

That's the Berube system at work. Majority of Ottawa shots come from the outside

Be smarter. Tanev plays an honest game. Hopefully Stutzle learns from tonight. Running around looking for hits isn’t his game. Skill, speed, and first to pucks is when he’s best.

Tanev does play an honest game, not saying he sold the call. Just one of those plays where you go for a hit and the defensemen turns, Stutzle even holds up and doesn’t drive through him. Unfortunate for that to be called.

Stutzle can reinit in a bit, he sometimes does do more than he needs to. Green has even mentioned that he told him sometimes you don’t have to work has hard, there’s times it’s wasted energy. But he wasn’t running guys, he was finishing his checks like he usually does, he just was a little too focused on that in game 1.

A lot of Ottawa’s wounds were self-inflicted tonight. Stupid and undisciplined. When they weren’t being idiots, the Sens actually more than held their own. Ullmark has to be a lot better.

Fully expect them to get their shit together Game 2. Leafs will need to be ready.

Hmm… I’ll give you the 2nd period. Leafs were loose and off their game. First period was ownage by the Leafs. They controlled pace, they controlled the neutral zone, sure Ottawa take your shots!!! Omg you got 11-13 shots in the period!!! Congrats! How many were just to try and change the game play?

This game wasn’t as close as Sens fans wish. You made it 2–1 off a mistake from Stolarz! Not from anything you did! After that I mean… WTF are we talking about?

I am a Leafs fan who is usually pessimistic as f*** but going into this series and after this game I’m super confident. Unless Ottawa has a super power I’m not sure how they win. Granted they Tkachuk, but their D is lacking big time

The second and third had concerning metrics for T.O 5v5.............They won so it's all good though...........Still a bit concerning though...........

Corsi and Fenwick a bit overrated because you cam't score on today's goaltenders with most of those shots but it does show they have the puck and are controlling the game somewhat.......

Blame the refs? The refs didn’t lose the game 6-2 for them. It’s not what happened.

Idk. Ottawa's neutral zone game was non-existent in the first, and while they were dominating in shots, their shot quality was rough
