Oh man, Seto great play, nearly helped Brown score
All that you brought up is just piling on to the product we've been watching since the team won the Cup in 2014.
Did Lombardi's pointed words about his very own team fall on deaf ears?
Seeing the same repeated failures on the ice from the same old suspects shows how little this team has progressed.
There's still lots of time to see what has changed between then and now, but I really don't know what is suddenly going to change to elevate this team. Is Brown going to bounce back to score 20+ goals and 50+ points? Or Setoguchi? Or Purcell? Or Pearson? How will Gaborik do and will he hold up? Who's going to solidify the second pairing on the blueline?
So yeah... nothing to worry about.
You'll notice my comment wasn't about the state of the team, only the mentality that believes that DL has mismanaged the team into the ground after winning two cups.
Name me a team with more success in such a short time. You and I both know it's a short list.
It's one thing to be pessimistic and critical of the roster, because I think that's appropriate even if I don't agree; it's another thing altogether to be watching with such fervent negativity that you can't notice good as well.
And to answer your question...yes, if you don't think Pearson and Gaborik will HELP, maybe you shouldn't be watching.
Greene will either get better or slide down to #7 so someone more capable can play.
There are youth knocking at the door that can act like King and Nolan did in 2012--hell, they're more skilled.
I'm not saying you have to be optimistic, I'm just saying that the camp that's liking to paint themselves as 'realistic' is completely ignoring some positives and potential huge boons just so they can get some sick thrills out of 'I told you so"s.
