I'm guessing the Rangers would rather be facing Prout than a defenceman who can control the play. I think they take that trade-off 9 times out of 10.

I get it you like Golobeuf and want to see him get in the games. If you wanna say he deserves to be in over Connauton ok. But you seriously downplay the role an adequate "true physical defenseman" can play. That's what Prout is. He ISNT a puck moving defenseman. Golo is prone to the same mistakes Prout and Conn are. And in no way was Tyutin bad or "slow" tonight either.

Some pretty poor puck decisions in the defensive zone tonight. Lead to a couple of goals. Wow, that was a hell of a choke job by Bob. Lol.. Poor guy.

That ones on you Bob, you **** the bed at the end. I think they only had 1 shot in the 3rd period before he let the next 3 in. I thought the team played well, Bob owes them for that

Exactly. Nobody to blame but Bob. I'm extremely pissed at him for this game. Yeah, the turnovers weren't the best, but there's no excuse to allow three s**t goals like that, especially in that fashion.

I love Bob, but the dude is too inconsistent to be regularly considered an actual "elite" goalie.
This definitely isn't the first time we've seen Bob choke like this, or allow a series of weak goals.
There is no f**king reason the Jackets should not have at least come out of this with AT LEAST a point, and that falls entirely on Bob. Nobody else. He f**ked the team. Plain and and simple. I thought the game was won after Saad scored, but nope can't have that. Same ole Jackets just had to show up!

Start C-Mac in New York. Get your f**king **** together Bob. This was just simply unacceptable. Stop choking

Pissed at the result but the guys battled their ***** off for 57 minutes. They play like that consistently they will win alot of games...assuming Bobrovsky plays better.

I get your point, but it's a overreaction. Bob is our goalie and we will live or die with him. Starting C-Mac really does little.

First of those three goals was mostly on Connauton. The other two, Bob's got to make the save. No excuse. Loss is on him.

Taking the positives: Dubinsky was fantastic (esp. on that stretch pass), Bourque looked like he had a spark, that PP goal was filthy. Up until that point they looked like they hadn't been able to fully get on the same page, but the second McDonagh was off the ice, it felt like a goal was inevitable. Other teams will not want to let these guys get time with the puck.

It's a long season and you're not going to win every one. Still, this would have been a very nice one to win.

If we're going to crash and burn, better be as soon as possible so the guys have plenty of time to figure things out. Lest you know, we go on a 5-12-3 start to the season.

Bob lost the game for us last night, but I disagree with the remedy. Start Bob tonight and let him make up for his miserable two minutes last night.

There were a couple people in front of me that got up and left after the Saad goal as if the Rangers had no chance to come back. Either they don't go to many games or they were prepared for the ensuing disappointment.

After letting this game sink in overnight, I can say they out played NYR for most of the game.
Just an unfortunate 77 seconds near the end of the game....and ysles, Bob should have had at least 2 of those 3 goals.
Hopefully their pride is still sore when they hit the ice tonight, and get those 2 points back.
Bourque really impressed me.

Very encouraging game though.

Murray looked like he belonged on a top pairing all night. First line looked really good at times, I think they were trying to be a little too cute with some passes (IE Johansen), but I think they'll be fine.

I don't get all the Prout hate, he played well tonight. Broke up a few passes, made a few good hits, none of those goals were on him.

I was sitting in the corner when Wennberg was hit on his first shift. I saw his face hit the glass and knew he wasn't going to be back. I think he took one more shift and got hit again. I hope he makes it back quickly.

The only thing I hate is that Bourque is on the PP when Jenner is on the bench. Jenner is basically a younger, nastier, faster version of Bourque with better hands. I'd rather have him out there.

I wouldn't say so. Rangers had something happening in more central sections of the game while the Bluejackets took their battle to the corners but not to the war zone often enough.

Wennberg dropping out might be a blessing in disguise as major major and thebus hinted; lots of work left to be done with the offensive line combinations.

Jenner wasn't that guy last night at least.

Bob lost the game period. My sears r directly behind him. All 4 goals were stoppable. That being said the wordt player on the ice for us last nite was Johanson,

Bob needs to get back on the horse tonight. Like Blah said a couple of posts ago, we live and die with Bob.

I want to see a good road game tonight where the forwards quit trying to be so fancy. There were too many forced passes in the O zone where pucks were turned over and headed the other way quickly.

The defense is a bit suspect to put it mildly, but kind of like Bob, this is who we are dancing with for the time being.

Last night's 1:17 will be a good lesson for these guys that it's not over till it's over. Thanks Yogi!

Yeah, coaching blunder 101. Don't go back to your starting goaltender after a bad 2 minutes the second game into the season. Talk about showing no confidence. I've always thought C-Mac as a decent backup. But that's what he is, a backup. You have to show confidence in your main man.

Last night was a heck of a game, that was mid-to-late season hockey on opening night by both teams. Jackets did slip into some of our bad habits, hopefully a good reminder and quickly addressed. RJ started strong but kind of lost his way for a while. I thought Saad might have been trying a bit too hard at times. Foligno was the best player on that line for most of the night - not that either of the other two were bad or anything.

I need to read and see what's going on with Wennberg, I suspect (without looking) that he isn't playing tonight. No reason he has to with Karlsson available.

Dubi was the best player for the Jackets IMO. Rest of the team looked shaky. First line looked nervous first half and the last half Johansen still looked like he was going on half machine. Too many turnovers and Murray had allot of them. Did they actually practice together in camp? Time to rebound!!
