What do you do with Evans (and to a lesser extent Armia)?

  • Sign at $4M/5years

  • Trade for 2nd rounder

  • Keep his as a rental and see what shakes out before July 1

Ironically.........it could be Buffalo after our home and home, that we could be dealing with.......
Would you guys do something around Cozens/Dach as a basis of some kind of deal? I do think Cozens is a much better player than Dach, but much more expensive.

Dach + Mailloux + 2nd for Cozens

This is a significant gap especially with Detroit.

I’m not overly optimistic but a push would be cool. Unless we can get a 1st rounder I’m keeping Evan’s, a late 2nd does nothing for us. The 2nd isn’t worth alienating Suzuki and Caufield.

I don't prescribe to schedule strength very much, at least in the way it is usually presented.

When montreal went on their streak, schedule strength was theoretically very much against them and we saw what happened.

If anything, I feel like results actually get more random down the stretch.

When they are key'ing in on Laine and Hutson, Slaf becomes the center piece of the PP. He either can take the puck to the net and jam it in or dish it to the bumper for a one timer. Suz also needs to shoot more.

They need to play faster and be more aggressive with the shootinh, it's like they have no ideas when Laine is tightly checked.
 
Yeah if all you can get is a 2nd for evans then just hang on to him.

Feel bad for Kirby but we need to push on. Beck has been playing well and has a chance to prove to Marty and upper management that he belongs in the NHL going forward

He’s got a non-stop motor hence the nickname. Work ethic doesn’t disappear + given Sabres recent history of dealing Cs, I’ll take my chances, this is more due to a bad atmosphere/situation

Nah, his one good season is actually just a blip and he is what he is.. a mercurial winger with size and a shot with low hockey IQ.
