Kovalchuk and Radulov had looked better than other our players on Olympics, so I don't even sure if your assumption is technically true.

This is true, these 2 guys in addition to Datsyuk were the top 3 guys there. Maybe that was part of the reason the team did poorly. I think a NT of only KHL guys including Rads and Kovy could compete with the top nations even if NHL guys were included. Call me delusional but it would be interesting to see none the less - Mozy, the SKA line etc.

Seems the SKA haters are very quiet after the past few games. Obviously they will come out louder than ever if CSKA wins next game, but I was just curious to where these people went the past few days?

I am busy as I have a life off the forum, that's what's the matter.

Not sure. That AK Bars, they play like Devils of 90-s.

You should watch hockey and not read stupid journalism. Even if you all repeat the idiotic matras about AkBars(fueled by what? hate and fear?) they will not become true. AkBars is playing solid hockey. What SKA and CSKA are doing there is living out their emotions, causing a lot of mistakes and breakdowns on both sides. It might be entertaining for a casual fan.

Because in the tournaments when the best players are available, it's better for the national team to have the actual best players than only the best Europeans. We've already seen it in recent years that they just don't cut it when the other teams have better than those in their rosters. We need our NHL players(not all of them but in key positions) if we want to win gold instead of bronze.

And why would they be any worse if they played in Europe? :help:

If they played in Europe, they would be available for the national team more often and they would be less reluctant to reject an invitation to the worlds etc. Having only mediocre players in Europe also lowers interest in those leagues.

So you say Devils didn't play a solid hockey in 90s? I bet their fans won't agree with you.

It's irrelevant if they can play in EHT tournaments during the season more. Besides, have you noticed how KHL teams are releasing less and less players for those tournaments? Osala also turned down Worlds a year ago due to fatigue, so it's not like fatigue is only an NHL player issue. You're potting way too much emphasis on your argument that our NHL players turn down the national team on last season (Olympics meant Worlds weren't that important)) and the mistrust that existed between some NHL players and former national team coach Jalonen.

It's also entertaining for any neutral hockey fan who cares about dynamic play style, breakaways, constant offenses and counter-offenses (one of the main reasons why veteran fans appreciate WJC so much). If one doesn't root for Ak Bars nor for their opponents, then it's literally impossible to sit through entire 60 minutes without beer or loud company. Get a two goal lead, then suffocate your opponent. That wins cups, sure, but it also puts people to sleep.

Anyways, I'm so glad that we have Game 7 tomorrow, can't wait.

EHT games are actually more important than you think as the national federation generates a lot of money from those. How is it better for Finland that say, Lehterä plays in the NHL instead of Europe?

It doesn't matter who plays in the national team on EHT tournaments, the fans will still show up. Leheterä has continued to develop in NHL, he himself has said that he's still got a lot to learn. He couldn't improve his physical play (mainly how to take hits and play in corners) the way he does in NHL. When he eventually plays for us again, he'll be a much better player. Kontiola is an example what playing mostly in Europe/KHL can result in, as he was muscled off the puck easily at the 2012-13 Worlds by US and Swedish players.

Aren't you the poster who said he couldn't understand why anyone would watch hockey that didn't involve their favorite team? If so, that would make you the epitome of a casual fan. One who happens to disdain watching offensive talent.

They should just award the trophy after this majestic game, the final will be unwatchable after this brand of Hockey.

******* this result, ******* SKA, heck I'll go further, ******* the KHL for favouritizing SKA. I am on the verge of saying screw the KHL totally.

I feel that the CSKA players should not shake the hands of the SKA players.
