Good, I would like to see him finish the year with the team. Even just eight games at the end of the season can be invaluable in terms of helping a guy prepare for his full rookie campaign.

I will say Leonard is already one hell of a hockey player and certainly a plug and play NHLer. I suspect Gabe may take a bit more time to get going at this level.

Yeah Leonard scored 60+ goals over the past two seasons. He'd go right into any lineup. That's not to say that Perreault won't end up a better player (I think he will) but Leonard is considered one of the best finishers outside of the NHL.

I think Leonard is going to find out that playing the part of a pest will go very differently in the NHL, especially during playoff heat. Leonard & Perreault will probably develop in similar ways despite being different types of players. It's part of why they're both so respected amongst USA Hockey minds.
Perreault seems destined to make an instant impact.
