11 points out of those 7 games on the road. One could only dream about that before the trip. Beating both Florida teams was nice :thumbu:

Fleury will have to play some games this season, the kid in the minors couldn't stop a basketball right now.
Wally needs to be up here.

Not doing well in the minors could be a mental thing, he's probably pissed because he still has to stay down there. But if true, showing Guerin that kind of attitude (we all know the GM and his ways) wouldn't be smart.

I understand Wallstedt though, he was basically placed on hold for another year because Guerin wanted to re-sign Fleury. The three goalies project, with little cap space, was just dumb. Sent false signals to the kid.

Part of the problem though is also the coach and roster down there. It doesn't help his situation.

Just saw the Faber fight. Crosby gives two cheap shots to Faber while he’s down and then skates away when Faber is finally upright ready to dish. What a wussy.
Yup. All in all it was pretty minor, just hate that a star like Crosby can do that stupid shit, skate away, a plug can come in from nowhere and start a fight. We got 2 mins from that, but it should have been an instigator....

Everyone these days raves about his being a good leader and a never-quit player, and I agree with those assessments, and I would really like him if not for his being a cheap-shot p***y (which is an insult to half the genitalia on Earth and all the cats). He's a rat blanketed in so much talent that half the community don't notice his whiskers.

The scary thing is, he looked even better to close out last season. He is incredible.

I think the most impressive part about his scoring surge late last year was the goal scoring. 26 goals in the last 28 games of the season.

Also 45 points in that same span, but 4 others had even more.

Freddy looks completely rejuvenated. It’s not just the goals but his skating and board-play is back to 22-23 levels. Sneaky big development

Spurgeon, on the other hand, looked awful rusty. Hope it’s just cobwebs. Getting him back to Top 4 level is paramount to this team making a real run this year

Was good to see the bottom six start to score. If Freddy can get back to what he was 2-3 years ago it'd be great. Fleury ended up playing decently, but i didn't like either of the first two goals, especially the first.
Zucc was up and down. Rossi, too. Lazy non clearance led to a goal, but he scored, and just missed another on one of the first plays of the game. Clearly he and Kap have been cooking up that play in practice. Merrill has been oddly ok. Maybe it's dawning on him that he is playing a NHL spot next year, whether it be here or somewhere else, and he is putting in more effort, whether it be in the gym, or at practice.
Xgren is kind of a ghost. He doesn't look bad, doesn't look good... only time i notice him is when he misses the net with a shot once a game. Better than whiffing like he did earlier. He's young, and a rookie, it's somewhat normal. If he doesn't show a pulse soon I expect that he will get some Iowa time. Milne can do what he is doing right now.

Merrill put in a ton of work during the offseason getting his game in shape, I remember an interview where he was mentioned by the staff as part of the offseason training group with Faber, Boldy, Rossi and the young guys. So far paying dividends, though I have seen a few classic Merrill mishaps show back up in his past few games. Hopefully he can keep this play up though, for a depth D, he has been acceptable this season after being my least favorite player on the team the previous two.

The core injury Freddy had the past two seasons really limited him, he is looking a lot more reasonable in a depth role this season, hopefully he keeps it up as well.

So I guess nobody’s talking about Kaprizov leading the league in points as he is casually doing it

I did say in game 3 of the season that it looks like his slow starts were a thing of the past
