SKA wins again. Egor Zavragin gets the win 3-2. Kid looks good. I am getting a Vasilevskiy vibe from him. He covers the lower half of the net very well. Considering that two former NHLers that I saw on his team are DeAngelo (or as the Russian announcer pronounced his name as Deangela) and Evgeny Kuznetsov. Now just imagine having these guys come at you every day in practice. Especially Kuznetsov with all the slick moves that guy has. If Egor keeps this pace of goaltending up for the rest of their season and playoffs I say we fast track him to Philly next year.

SKA have a LOAD of guys who played NHL.

Evgeny Kuznetsov
Tony DeAngelo
Mikhail Grigorenko
Nikita Zaitsev
Valentin Zykov
Mikhail Vorobyov
Sergei Plotnikov
Andrei Pedan
Borna Rendulic
Sergei Tolchinsky

and a few of their best players (younger guys) might in the very near future...

But the Flyers have no direct ability to fast track him. He is under contract until 2027 and only way he leaves is if SKA allow him a release.

There is no reason for them to fast track him.
First, see if Ersson is a starter quality goalie.
Second, see if Fedotov is a capable backup
Third, see if Kolosov has a future with the team.
Fourth, get a look at Bjarnason in the AHL.

If Zavragin plays like this for three years, he'll go directly to the NHL in 2027-28.
Either as a Flyer or a trade.

Is he a top 10 goalie prospect? Top15? Who do you have ahead of him?

Agree. Now what if he wants to fast track himself and come over? Then what do the Flyers do?

Worry about it when it happens.

If 2026-27, Fedotov on a 2 year deal so no problem, let him back up for a year, decide if you want to pay or trade Ersson if he looks that good.

That would be a "rich person's" problem

I think he's the best U20 goalie prospect in the world (Obviously i'm speaking just as a guy who coaches 10 year old goalies and no real expertise beyond this). He just is fantastic in all aspects (Fedotov for example, i don't care what his stats were, his footwork sucks).

Well, I'm not going to anoint him the next Shesterkin until the end of the season.
But if he keeps this pace up, it would be hard not to get excited.

Fedotov is the only goalie in pro sports ive ever seen so much out of position after the first shot!

At 19 probably not ready for this kind of workload.

Which is why 2 more years in the KHL is probably not a bad thing, let him mature physically and get comfortable as the "man."

It's gotta be a pretty big mental strain. We know of the physical toll of being in net 60 minutes a night, but closely and attentively tracking a fast paced sport to keep yourself where you need to be night in and out is a thing you can burn out on fast.
