Principal point of contact was his head because he wasn’t ready to get hit at all. What is Pettersson supposed to do? Be smaller?

By that logic a blindside headshot is clean because "they're not ready to get hit at all".

And again, he can easily ride him to the boards, tie him up, or make the hit in a manner where principal point of contact isn't the head.

That’s completely different and you know that

It's the same principle, just a matter of how much you extend it. Someone "not ready" isn't an excuse to target their head. "Being bigger" isn't an excuse to target their head, especially as that was the primary - or principal - point of contact and not something that happened on follow-through.
