It's a good thing you aren't our GMSend him to San Jose. Greer will scoop up any of Colorado's feces. Besides Mitts has Sabre roots. Greer can't resist that.
Bag of pucks in return is enough compensation.
Its fine that you might think this, but that doesn't make any of this factual. None of us have a clue how sakic and CMac work together. Stating an opinion as fact doesnt change that this is just a perception of how things work. Sakic could be completely hands on for all we know.Sakic isn't super involved, he's not a micro manager. And I doubt CMac is running to him to seek his approval before he makes a move.
CMac is making the decisions, and they have been mostly poor.
Just a lot of frustration boiling over. It's a good thing you aren't our GM
I understand the frustration, but Mitts should have some value if CMac decides to trade him. Mitts is still young, and probably not a stylistic fit on the Avs and needs change of scenery. He can go to other team and have a good careerJust a lot of frustration boiling over.
Watching Casey (who I supported in the initial trade) go downhill and confirm that the same deficiencies I attributed to the Sabre system, were actually his own, has left me quite cynical.
I wouldn’t go that far. I don’t think the Preds were all that good in this either. The Avs are just not a good team. That’s it. I don’t think Bednar is doing a great job of coaching but no coach would be doing with this roster as it is right now.Brunett owns Bednar. As he has since his Minnesota days. So tired of the same outcomes. Avs outshoot the opponent by a wide margin yet lose due to a hot goaltender.
No 2nd line and beyond offensive scoring. Even with Malinski (Malinski??) the Avs D as a 5th scoring line disappears. Goaltender plays a great game but one team D mistake defeats them.
Lets face it. The Avs game scheme has gotten stale and even mediocre coaches know how to beat it.
Was easy to see, he'd be a good AHL playerJust a lot of frustration boiling over.

Swap him for Cozens. Both teams throw a new dart at the wall, with the Sabres getting a known quantity. It sounded like his deficiencies were a lot less pronounced with the Sabres (but maybe it's because they just sucked for so long).Just a lot of frustration boiling over.

I agree, I’m just tired of Mittlestadt on this team. Cozen is dumb, and realistically he’d probably just be a better version of Colton.I mean ok, but meh..
Go back to the same dirty trough to drink expecting not to get poisoning. I hope there is a better move.
You guys who bring up Cousins are really desperate.

Cousins would probably be a wash with what we've currently got, but would unforunately take assets to get. Complete negative. Why pay for the same shit we've got if our coach refuses to work with it.I mean ok, but meh..

I'm not really trying to work myself or anyone else up into hysteria here... but I think we really should be beginning to question the wisdom of making any moves while Bednar is still HC.
I get your frustration and your hesitation to go another year with CMac.I liked your post out of respect, but..
If Cmac can't fix this roster before the trade deadline. I'm not forgiving another year wasted.
Sakic wasted years, but ultimately won a cup, this just watching turds circle the drain every year with Cmac.
f*** Landeskog being injured. They've learned and used his LTIR. So remove Landeskog from the picture. Nuke is the only real roster player missing outside of Manson.
No dude.. no f***in way am I forgiving wasting another year of Mack and Makar. It's wasting too.
Look I rooted for Pittsburgh in their early years with Crosby because I liked Mario and Yager. But I grew to hate them because of how sad sack they were at building a team every year. I didn't get it.. they sold off everything and I thought it was a mistake.
I get it now, it's worth it every year. Every single f***in year.

My point is that GMs usually get two HCs. Bednar was Sakic's hire. I feel it would be a shame to fire the GM without giving him a coach that actually plays the roster he's assembled.
Exactly this…If the roster is dog shit (which it is, without a doubt), coaching doesn’t matter.
CMac has been the most aggressive GM in the last 12 months. It's not for a lack of trying:I liked your post out of respect, but..

CMac has been the most aggressive GM in the last 12 months. It's not for a lack of trying:
Byram for Mittelstadt
Johansen and a 1st for Walker
Hanzel and a 3rd for Trenin
6th for Duhaime
Signed Parise
Annunen and a 6th for Wedgewood
Georgiev, Kovalenko, a 2nd and 6th for Blackwood, Smith, and a 5th
Pavel and a 3rd for Parssinen and a 7th
Rantanen for Necas, Drury, a 2nd and 4th
Obviously, a lot of the moves he has made have backfired (Mittelstadt, Colton, Wood, having faith in Nichushkin) but he is leaving no stone unturned to try improving this team.
