True but I will add that Foote knows exactly how to play this squad and against Bednar's system.Bednar really can't Coach against coaches like Tocchet. Any team that plays us tight, we get shutout.

Really wish they'd look at changing out the assistant coaches at least. Just some new ideas to make the team way less predictableTrue but I will add that Foote knows exactly how to play this squad and against Bednar's system.
Since the trade the Avs have scored more than 2 goals twice.
Oh... snap. The Avs are not constructed (nor coached) to play a grinding, hard nose, crowd the opposing goaltender game.
Nor will they when that's the only tactic that is going to work. We've seen this (at a minimum) vs the Jets and the Canucks.
Grinding and lunch pail style hockey does not apply to Wood or Colton because they both are morons.
I suppose Tocchat and Foote heard that Bednar wants the Avs to play playoff like hockey before the break because they prep'd their team to play it too.
In theory for sure want this.Bednar would never play this style, but I think for the Avs to remain competitive they need to embrace more physicality.
It's why I said Bednar would never play that style. I really do think we need to move off of Bednar. He's a great guy. He's done the team plenty of good. He doesn't seem to realize the team isn't the 2022 version. In theory for sure want this.
Problem is... beds edits out aspects of a player's game rendering this idea kinda sorta... remote.
This is great way to describe it. I feel obligated to watch because I always do, but I don't enjoy it. It's like doing the dishes or laundry. I do it because I need to, but it isn't fun.Agree with everyone saying it's not fun to watch Avs hockey this season.
It feels like a chore. Honestly, I'll probably not tune in for the Flames and Oilers games and get a good 3 week break from this garbage.
Ill admit ive watched more Oiler games then Avs games this season. Thats never happened in my life. Mainly because of Fourgiev. I came back when Blackwood arrived. Its not a priority anymore. I used to schedule my nights to watch the games live since I was 19.Agree with everyone saying it's not fun to watch Avs hockey this season.

I'm deep in the sunk cost fallacy, it would probably be much better for my mental healthy to not get frustrated with a hockey team that I have no ability to have any effect on.Ill admit ive watched more Oiler games then Avs games this season. Brother, with you. This is great way to describe it. I feel obligated to watch because I always do, but I don't enjoy it. It's like doing the dishes or laundry. I do it because I need to, but it isn't fun.
And this sucks. Sports are are supposed to fun and entertainment. The Avs this year are simply neither of these for me right now.
Yeah the way I framed that was bad; wasn't intended to be a criticism of the trade itself. I still like the trade, personally. This team just has a major scoring problem.I mean to be fair, before the trade the Avs scored 2 goals or less 6 times in January so it's not like they were scoring a ton with Mikko either.
I am missing the special skill that he brings with a hair trigger release and accuracy.I don't miss the 14M he wanted. He was offered the highest winger contract ever, and rejected it. He didn't want to be here.
Not saying we don't need some better shooters, but 96 made his choice. I'd rather want players that want too be here and not the f*** the team with their contract demands.
It's weird, because the 2017 team was terrible to watch, but it was almost so bad it was funny. Like those terrible B movie horrors. This team feels like you're watching the death of a relationship that you thought would be forever. It's sad, it's frustrating, it's just a bad time. This is great way to describe it. The Avs have always been my priority and I've scheduled my life around games for far too many years. I'm kind of over it if this is the consistent product. Losing is one thing, but this team is infuriating. It's constant shit efforts, bad coaching and bad losses. It's garbage.Ill admit ive watched more Oiler games then Avs games this season. Thats never happened in my life. Mainly because of Fourgiev. I came back when Blackwood arrived. Its not a priority anymore. I used to schedule my nights to watch the games live since I was 19.
Something... anything....I'd like either Drury or Necas to center the second line next game. See if either of them can generate a spark of something even if just momentarily.
2017 was rough, but I knew we were ass, so losing didn't bother me. I found things to cheer for that year too keep me entertained. It's weird, because the 2017 team was terrible to watch, but it was almost so bad it was funny. Like those terrible B movie horrors. Management has nearly destroyed this roster with it's decisions on Erik Johnson, Kadri, Nuke, Gabe and goaltending (the latter until the "Wood" Bros arrived). And the decisions made over the bottom 6 and 5 - 6. D.The Avs have always been my priority and I've scheduled my life around games for far too many years. You know what needs to happen? Someone needs to sit Nathan MacKinnon down and tell him there's no more Mikko Rantanen. You need to be this team's goal scorer.I am missing the special skill that he brings with a hair trigger release and accuracy.
I grew tired of watching him trip over his own big feet every game.
It was as obvious as the ugly nose on my face that after the protracted negotiations, he wasn't going to be resigned. The Avs don't work that way. They make you a reasonable offer and if you reject it, then you are toast. Been that way for nearly 30 years.
Prepare to be disappointed no way in hell they fire Bednar. It's long overdue but it simply won't happen.I’ve been watching every game I can since I could afford to purchase center ice and this team is hard to watch, but I survived the 16-17 season, I can survive this too.
That said…I highly doubt it, but if the next 2 games don’t go well, I wonder if they potentially use the Four Nations break to possibly look at a coaching change. It’s a 3 week break, enough time for the players not at the tournament to learn a new system, then 29, 8, 62, and 7 would have to catch up which should be doable.
There will be no coaching change except possibly, off season. Even then. It's highly doubtful.I’ve been watching every game I can since I could afford to purchase center ice and this team is hard to watch, but I survived the 16-17 season, I can survive this too.
