Chisholm will never be a tough, physical defender, but he should be using his speed to get back on puck retrievals, and when he does get the puck on breakouts, make fast, sound decisions. He seems to want to hold onto the puck for too long, or make "creative" passes, both of which get him in trouble.Merrill has been significantly better than Chisholm is 2025, I hope he gets the nod next to Spurgeon.
Yeah I think he will be moved. If Chisholm played a better defensive game, I think he’d have a greater chance to stick around but we got a pair of bluechip prospects knocking on the door. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get moved in the off season, unless they deem Buium to need AHL time.
Khusnutdinov says hello.
$3.5M to be a shutdown guy that’s actually been solid. People seem to overly despise the guy because he didn’t put up points in his first 20 games. He and Foligno are similar; 3rd line role players. His offense is also bad but he's a rookie brought in to be a fourth line center on his ELC, Trenin is a veteran who got 3.5M to provide something, anything, on the third line
Those games still to count too, but 9 points in 21 games since he broke his funk is pretty much right on track with expectations.$3.5M to be a shutdown guy that’s actually been solid. I think they despise the guy because they overpaid him to come in and fix the penalty kill and it hasn't improved$3.5M to be a shutdown guy that’s actually been solid. But it’s also not unheard of for players on a new team to have an adjustment period. Those games still to count too, but 9 points in 21 games since he broke his funk is pretty much right on track with expectations.
To fix the what now?I think they despise the guy because they overpaid him to come in and fix the power play and it hasn't improved
Couldn’t agree more. Taking time to acclimate to a new team/system happens all the time.$3.5M to be a shutdown guy that’s actually been solid. People seem to overly despise the guy because he didn’t put up points in his first 20 games. He and Foligno are similar; 3rd line role players.
