Nate hasn’t looked right in a while and yet he’s got 50 points. That’s how good he is.

Power play is still shit and the second pairing really struggled. Rough game from Sammy G, and even though he had better underlying stats I thought Sammy M looked terrible tonight. Tons of really bad turnovers, I was so pissed when Middleton wrestled the puck away from like, two Preds, handed Malinski the puck and he proceeded to cough it right up. Oh well, try and do better next game.

Not gonna lie, Middleton is impressing me. He’s doing the things Manson was not doing this year—using his size and leverage to muscle guys off the puck and making the simple play. Obviously he’s not better than Manson but…he understands he’s not a puckmover.

But the big star was Blackwood. Fantastic debut. Hope he doesn’t have to work as hard next game.


Nate just doesn’t care for fanfare. He’s never been a very boisterous personality, if anything he’s socially awkward, the PR portion of the game is obviously something he hates. Doesn’t bother me in the slightest. Other players can do the interviews.

Both the Middleton brothers have made huge strides in their game this year.

If Keaton can develop similar to Jake did in Minnesota that would be a huge W.

-I really like Middletons physicality infront of the net

-Rants looked physical all night and stole nicely the puck for a Mack goal

So if Blackwood can keep us in the game for the 1st period consistenly when waiting Avs to fire up for 2nd and 3rd this will do nicely.

Also liked the Wedgewood Blackwood hug in the end. I dont remember when we last had so good goalie chemistry..

It sounds like the flu is still going around the team. Colton said some guys still have the flu and they haven’t had a normal team practice for a bit, which explains why they haven’t looked good for the last 2 games

On a more serious note:

Blackwood was f***ing amazing tonight. The guy played pretty much a perfect game, I have zero complaints. Is this what is feels like to have a goalie that does his job like a real starter goalie? We didn't start great and he kept us in the game.

He's huge, he doesn't give almost any rebounds, he's quick for his size, you could absolutely trust him to do the routine saves.. there's A LOT to love.

I want this man extended. One game sample size behind as an Av, but I want this man extended.

Really glad Blackwood had a good showing for you guys. I truly think he will fit in with your team and give you stability in net. The dude kept an absolutely abysmal Sharks team in way more games than anyone had a right to. I do not think consistency is a concern with him, as long as he stays healthy he is a pretty consistent goalie.

As long as the Sharks are not fighting against yall, the Avs are always a team I like to see succeed, so I really hope Blackwood helps you guys this year go for the cup.

Pretty much unrelated but I feel like telling a story.

I was at a Sharks game last season, game ~78 of regular season vs Calgary that wasn't in the playoff race either. It was such a horror show to see, I couldn't had imagined that a NHL team could look that bad. When I took the train back to Campbell some fans were even talking "it wasn't that bad of a game!" Couldn't believe my ears.

You've managed to make your team so much more fun and promising in such a short period of time. I'm honestly so excited and happy for you guys - you hit the rock bottom and now there is light at the end of the tunnel. A lot of Avs fans can relate to that thanks to the 2016-2017 fiasco.

I'll be rooting for you to get that cup when the Avs are way past our cup contending window and starting our next rebuild. You have some incredible pieces, a few more and you're good to go!

Do we need any more proof that George was a cancer and dragging this team down even beyond his horrible goaltending? Look at the joy in this moment. CMac did the right thing firing him to the moon. The price to correct the problem was a bit high but for a cup contender nearing window's end it was the right thing to do.

Barry Trotz is a terrible GM. Only okayish move they’ve made is signing RoR, but all the other moves have been terrible.
Buying out Duchene never made sense back then and is looking worse and worse every day.

I feel like his attitude is same as Kimi except without the sarcastic edgy humor side. His way is just get over with it already
