Sometimes less is more. Pass....pass....pass.....stop worrying about the perfect play.
I know it looked stupid but every pass was into the feet of the receiver. Just a bunch of bad plays. They wanted the pass for a one timer and just didn't get it done. Still could have gotten off a wristshot at one point of that sequence though.
Decidedly unexciting game with not a lot of offense on either side. I really hope Wallstedt gets a few more games and can somehow settle into a rhythm which he clearly needs. Looked nervous at the start of the game but settled down later on.
I am actually surprised the team hung in there as well as they did with the patchwork lineup and shuffling wingers throughout the 60 minutes. The Golden Knights are mostly healthy so going up against them with a fully healthy wild roster and our #1 goalie should have been a much different game.
Someone earlier said it is sad we loose against the better teams and "only" get points against the weaker teams. I see it differently: the rut the Wild are in with the long injury list makes those points against the smaller teams even more important. The team is far from healthy and winning against fully healthy top teams should not be the requirement to feel good about oneself. It matters in April and beyond, right now the goal is still to punch a ticket to be able to play at that time. And for that all the points count.
