As a recent Cup winner, did you guys care about games the next season? I.e Florida just shit the bed against Chicago and prior to last year I would have been stewing on it for a whole day but now it's like oh well. Am I just dead inside?

Totally normal.

1. You know you’re better than Chicago. Games in November don’t matter.

2. You just reached the top of the mountain so a scrape on your second trip up doesn’t really hurt.

3. Regular season LOL, playoffs are all that matters.

This was similar to Winnipeg sweeping us in the regular season last year and their fans chanting “We want the Avs!” for the first round.

Well, they got the Avs, and the Avs ripped their ass apart for an NHL record amount of goals in a single playoff round. The Vezina winner was having nightmares.

I'm still full from our cup win, this core did it and nothing can take it away. Anything else is a bonus.

A Saturday afternoon ass pounding in South Beach from the defending Stanley Cup champions awaits us.

No changes expected to the lineup other than maybe CdH coming back in for Kylington.

I will update this post with lineup news as we go.

Edit: Lineups

Avalanche:

Drouin - MacKinnon - Lehkonen
Nichushkin - Mittelstadt - Rantanen
Kiviranta - Ivan - O’Connor
Wood - Kelly - Kovalenko

Toews - Makar
Girard - Manson
Kylington - Malinski

Georgiev

Panthers:

Boy that forward corps is just insane. So much depth.

Defense on the other hand, that’s really their second pairing? Wow. Whatever the case I ain’t puttin’ money on the Avs.

Naw it’s a wonderful feeling to just watch games without the stress. Only thing that annoyed me in 2023 was that Avs management cared even less than I did.

I'm still not feeling the stress a few year later. Game by game in the regular season is meh. Make the playoffs, trend the right direction in play style/effort, and get healthy... a random loss in November is not worth losing sleep.

Verhaeghe on the third line. f*** me that's depth. He's scoring at .65 pts/gm this season, already has two game winners and 13 points.

I don't know why, but I've always loved Carter as a player.

NHL playoffs are a gauntlet like no other. After you go through that as a fan and are able see your team lift a Cup it takes a while to give a shit about some regular season games.

I'm confused. What has Shittyton done to stay in the lineup over CDH and Ludvig? Is this an "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" scenario because we won the last two with him in there?

I thought he was solid the last couple of games but maybe because i'm comparing it to his start of the season
