It makes sense to elevate what’s expected of him, but his play hasn’t been anywhere near as bad as some people make it out to be. He’s still a top pairing defenseman and his game would’ve been harder to replace by Addison/Menell. His contract is too long given his age, but I’m not ready to start worrying until his game experiences a notable drop off over the entire season.
